Hopefully this isn't really an issue and he just needs a couple extra days. Good thing Diaz has been killing it since coming back. |

I am not pleased with the news on Bregman, but, Diaz is hitting better at the moment than Bregman has in two years. |

I learned a long time ago that those who never contribute anything to a discussion and only curse or insult those who do are kind of like people who sit back, do nothing, and bitch about those who put forth effort to do something. We had an athletic booster club at a school where I was in the 80's that had a group of people who worked their tails off doing fund raising projects to be sure the kids in our athletic program had things they needed plus some extras. We also had some who were on the membership roll, did nothing, and went all over the community bitching about how the club spent the money. Community members had the intelligence to see what the whiners were (parents of lazy kids who didn't work hard enough to earn much playing time) and tuned them out. We had a great year, club membership grew, and our overall athletic program was successful.

I don' t think any of us are claiming Bregman is not a good player or that we don't need him. But, we can look at the numbers since he has been out of the lineup and the third spot in the order and see that our run production has increased. When healthy, he is an excellent third baseman and a great competitor whose offensive numbers had been in decline when he was injured. A healthy Bregman who can come back close to what he was in 2019 would go a long way to helping us win another WS. |

No blank check, but, I'd pay him more than Bregman, mainly due to the position he plays. He is also the best athlete on the team and generally is at his best in the post-season. It will take over $30 million a year to keep him. If we don't give it to him, he will get it elsewhere and we will end up regretting letting him go. Ironically, in the fall of 2019 that was Correa. He wanted Carlos GONE! Now that it will cost an arm and a leg for an eternity to keep him after this season, Corch claims 'letting him walk' will be a massive failure on the part of the front office.
