In 2019, Alex inked a deal with the Astros for 5 years, $100MM. ($20MM AAV) It's back-loaded so he's making a lot more per year at the end.

I'd gladly give Carlos that deal. Even add 20%. But we both know Carlos won't sign that.

I am sure they would, too. However, that doesn't make any of you right nor does it make me right for thinking Carlos is worth more than Bregman. Considering the defensive  positions, I'd have to say Bregman would be easier to replace than Correa.  Carlos' bat has been inconsistent, but, Bregman's has been basically missing since 2019.  Carlos may not be worth more than Bregman, but, it will take more money to keep him. It could also take more than Altuve is getting.  My concern here is not with how much we pay Correa, but, with what we will be left with as SS if we don't re-sign him.  None of them are worth what they get, certainly not Greinke for what he is doing at the present time.

Correa’s stats for the year right now right now are within a few points to his career averages. He has had good streaks and bad streaks but the average is normal for him. Bergman’s stats for his career are better than his year to date stats and better than Correa by slightly less than 10%. This year Bregman went through some rigorous strength training preseason than IMO is complicit in the issues he is currently having. 

So even though Bregman played for a month on bad wheels his stats for this year are similar to Correa’s in average but his power numbers are down. We all know that power is generated in a players lower half and bad wheels are not conducive to good power. Comparing a healthy Correa to a damaged Bregman is not productive. Comparing a healthy Bregman to a healthy Correa results in Bregman being the more valuable player. 

having said all that I would like to keep both, though I know keeping Correa is not going to happen.

You always manage to omit that I NEVER said he was a good hitter or the complete player. I also NEVER said he deserved a starting spot. I DID say that he is an elite DEFENSIVE centerfielder and that can be backed up with proven facts.  He does "suck" as a hitter, but, according to you, he "sucks" in every aspect of the game and that is NOT the case.  I am not going to waste more time restating the obvious because you are going to twist whatever I say to make it look like I said otherwise.

You obviously have no clue about what all is involved in winning a Gold Glove. He has never had enough playing time to be considered for a Gold Glove.  He has always been a 4th outfielder and late-inning defensive replacement. If his defense sucked, he wouldn't be inserted in late innings to strengthen the defense.
