I like Kemp starting, period. I hope he gets to do it nearly every day for at least a month. They owe him that chance to prove or disprove his ability.

With Kemp, we will probably see more steals. Jake, of course, had the speed to steal but had difficulty getting on base. Kemp should get on base around 35% of the time. I'll be surprised if he averages less than 2 total bases per game through some combination of walks, steals, and base hits.

I'd rather have Stassi in as DH with Gattis on the bench as tonight's backup catcher, but this lineup should be able to get the job done.

I'll be impressed if Kemp performs even as well as Fisher overall.

I'll be impressed if Kemp performs even as well as Fisher overall. Yeah, we know. And Jake is an above average player.

I got a little nervous a bit ago as the announcers said on air that the Astros had defeated the Angels today 4-1 to take a 2 game lead. Kind of weird there and I had to get on line to see if perhaps I had mistaken the game time.

McCann batting 5th. Not sure that’s happened this season.

Don’t think Springer has a hit since getting drilled in the elbow.

Bregs keeps stinging the ball and getting no benefit of the results.

Altuve and Springer swinging on the first pitch. Can be a good strategy against a pitcher who likes to throw a first pitch strike down the middle of the plate to get ahead in the count.

Last two Verlander starts the offense has produced basically nothing. They need to back up his fantastic pitching tonight.

Richards getting pretty lucky there. 3 well-struck balls, only one of which fell for a hit.
Altuve smoked that at 108 mph. Bregman's hit was 100 mph off the bat and for some reason, Correa's exit velocity wasn't recorded.
