Yes!!!! Right call by AJ to let him finish. Even if Cozart had hit a walkoff HR, it would have still been the right call.

No way I let Verlander pitch to Cozart. Guess that is why I am sitting here and Hinch is sitting there.
Verlander. What more do you need to say.

We can beat good teams. Angels scored 5 runs in three games. Pitching staff is great. Hitting needs improvement.

In the series, the Angels got 22 innings from their starters and the Astros got 20.
Only 10 hits and 2 walks total offense this game.

Kemp in no way looked overmatched today. Got on base once and had a liner back to the mound that carried a hit probability of >50%. That move is already starting to pay off.

Good win .. good series win This has got to be disheartening to the Angels. They have played about as well as they possibly can while the Astros have struggled this year yet they find themselves 2 games back of Houston after losing 2 of 3 at home to them.

I liked what I saw from Kemp. Now, I wish they would send Fisher down and bring up White or Davis. Justin Verlander showed again why trading for him last year is one of the best trades the Astros have EVER made. I am so glad to see Cozart pop up because I did not want to see Giles coming into the game in that situation. I never like to see Giles come in with runners on base. Big win for the Astros. We hit some balls hard with nothing to show for it. Gattis with the big home run to give us the only runs Verlander needed.

Bartolo apparently used his lard belly to stop a 102 mph comebacker to the mound

Good things can happen when you have speed and you put the ball in play. He has speed and he put the ball in play every at-bat. I hope AJ leaves him in the starting lineup.

There is no better starting pitcher in the game right now than Verlander and no better rotation than the Astros.

There is no better starting pitcher in the game right now than Verlander and no better rotation than the Astros. By several metrics, this is the best starting rotation in baseball in the past 40 years. The only Astros rotations it really compares to are the 1980-81 rotations.

At some point this year, the pitching (if it keeps up) and the hitting (when it gets going) should carry the Astros on a 12 or 15 game winning streak.

Last season the beginning of the year the offense was unreal, a flip this year. Hopefully the starting staff can keep it going and at some point it will jell together.

Peacock has the most innings out of the bullpen at only 17 2/3 innings 45 games into the season. That’s incredible.

Sipp could easily go on the DL to make room for White. Would allow Yuli to only face RHP while White rakes against LHP.

Peacock has the most innings out of the bullpen at only 17 2/3 innings 45 games into the season. That’s incredible. At some point they'll need to pull the starters not named Verlander out earlier. Just to save them for the long run if nothing else. Or Mix in some starts by McHugh and Peacock. This team should be preparing bfor the postseason at the all-star break. Keep people healthy and fresh.
