I really like how are young guys have shown up this year. For all the talk our core stars get and deserve, it's almost the young guys coming through all season that's the main story.

Good to see Siri and Stubbs get hits to start the four run inning. We then saw Jose Altuve at his best. With Stubbs going on the pitch, Jose lines a two-run double down the right field line. Excellent job of hitting. Then, the Yordan two run shot.

I guess this Siri kid is Sept. call up. IS he suppose to be good Here's his stats. Click on: Show Minors. www.baseball-reference.com/players/s/sirijo01.shtmlHe's 26 and been in the minors since he was 17. Nothing special but he's been hitting well in Sugar Land this year. I think the Astros are throwing him a bone, getting him a few weeks or a month of major league pay and of course ... free healthcare for life. Maybe he'll be able to stick in the majors some day. But if not, at least he got reward for his years in the minors. I like to root for kids like this. I hope he get hot for the Month so that he has something to share with his kids after he is out of baseball. |
