Simmons is potentially out 2-6 weeks which helps Correa's case...but now Correa is a question mark health-wise too.

The Astros that are a lock in my opinion are:
Verlander Cole Altuve
The Astros that will most likely make it are:
Springer Morton Correa
Correa needs to take it up a notch so that his stats look like an All Star. Right now he looks pretty disappointing from the expectations and hype.

That's the most probable, but unless Correa makes a good push here soon I think he'll be the odd man out. Springer has a good chance but it's a tough OF this year in the AL.
Trout Betts Judge Haniger Benintendi Mazara Upton Rosario
All of them are having better or comparable seasons to Springer as of now.

And some of them (judge) would make the team even if they were not comparable

Yup. A mediocre Boston or NYC player gets way more attention than they should. If the Gleybar Torres kid in NY stays hot, he could dethrone Altuve next year whether he is the most deserving or not.

There is an article about how Devo might make it again, but I really doubt it at this point unless he really goes on fire. There will likely be 3-4 Astros already with plenty of other teams that are required to have representation.

Devenski does not deserve to be an All-star......I would take McHugh over him. If Verlander, Cole, or Morton are left off unless they tank between now and when selections are finalized, it's an injustice. Springer probably won't win the vote but he needs to make the team. I am not one who thinks players should make the all-stars just because I like their team. Carlos Correa does not deserve to be on the team unless he really starts hitting

First update on voting:
Altuve 1st Bregman 3rd McCann 3rd Correa 4th Gattis 4th Springer and Gurriel 5th

Not only is Altuve 1st for 2B, he's up by almost 500K! And he's currently 2nd in total votes behind only Mookie Betts.
Springers chances are looking better. If he ends up in the top-5 for OFers, I bet he makes it as a reserve for sure.

Interestingly, Bregman is probably the 2nd most deserving 3B at this rate behind Jose Ramirez, and Stassi deserves heavy consideration. I'm surprised Correa has more votes than Lindor.

Reddick's on Intentional Talk right now and they're trying to stump him with wrestling trivia

Altuve and Bregman are looking like locks right now. Springer has a reasonable chance if he breaks out of his recent slump, and Gattis is a possibility too. I think Correa is out of luck with so many shortstops having good seasons.

I hope Bregman makes it. His BB/K rate alone is a testament to his keen eye at the plate. He just needs to up the homers to become a shoo-in. I think he’s earned reserve status at the least. Nobody picked Bregman to make it originally but Sherwin, so kudos to him. Bregman became a no doubter towards the end.

Get on it, Correa.

Get on it, Correa. Both Correa and Springer need to have big second 1/2s...not only I am an Astros fans, I either drafted or traded for these under performers...

I think that due to Biggio lowering his speed threat due to that Preston Wilson slide, his overall body of work will soon be in Altuve’s rearview mirror. Jose’s already got that edge in terms of being an MVP.
