As it stands now, I'd have to say that we would have the following players make the All-Star team:
Verlander Cole Morton Devinski or McHugh (I doubt both would make it.) Altuve (Lowrie would be the starter)
Correa is having a good year, but Simmons and Lindor are having better. Altuve would likely be the 3rd best, but Cano is now suspended and 2B in the AL is pretty thin this year.
I would put McCann on the cusp at the time being, but he isn't playing quite enough at this point. Too many good OFers this year if Springer doesn't catch fire more-so.

I wonder how many times three SPs from the same team have made the All-Star team. The first trio that comes to mind would be Maddux, Glavine and Smoltz. Did they ever make the All-Star team in the same year?

I'll go with Verlander, Cole, Altuve, and Correa.

Correa will have to hope Lindor or Simmons gets hurt/suspended/withdrawals. Or else carry three shortstops (which is possible).

I'll go with Verlander, Cole, Altuve, and Correa. Verlander, Cole, and Altuve should be locks. Correa has work to do. Sprimger has hope but must heat up a lot. Morton has to be in consideration as a pitcher, too.

It helps that our team won the World Series last season and their names are now known. Correa will get voted in.

I think Lindor will get voted in and Simmons deserves to be the reserve. Course, we still have several weeks so who knows how it will end up. Correa is certainly having a good overall season.

Correa will have to earn it, since AJ (as far as I know) picks the non-starters.
He'll get slammed for favoritism if not.

The Astros won the World Series and AJ is the manager and has earned the right to make selections. Managers always reward their own players for what they did to help the team win. If AJ has the choice, Correa and probsably Springer make the team. Springer's WS performance may have earned him a spot.

It's the players' ballot that picks the reserves. Only All-Stars the manager picks are if someone needs to be replaced due to injury, if they pitched the previous Sunday, etc.

I thought the managers still had a say in the reserves, too. No matter how they are selected, some who deserve to be on the team are always left off.

Didn't know the protocols had changed.

Normally there are enough injuries, etc. where the managers are able to sneak on a couple of their guys as long as is it isn't ridiculous (like adding a 4th 1B when you only have 1 catcher). That's where AJ can make his mark.
That will be Springer's best chance if he isn't voted in, since there are a lot of good OFers this year. Trout, Judge, and Betts should be the starters easily to this point.

At this point I'd say we're looking at:
Verlander Cole Morton Altuve
Maybe: Correa, Springer, McHugh (Depending on injuries or withdrawals)

My dark horse candidate is Max Stassi. The All STar Team probably carries 3 catchers or so and Cervelli, Realmuto, and (imo) Stassi all deserve it.

Stassi will have to continue to get more ABs.

Stassi will have to continue to get more ABs. With McCann out, there is a very good chance he will get them. I think Hinch likes Fedo but wants him to be a backup, not primary, catcher.

Stassi is young and needs to make up for lost time. I hope they let him hit every game with maybe a day or two off from catching (but still DHing).

I hope Bregman makes it. His BB/K rate alone is a testament to his keen eye at the plate. He just needs to up the homers to become a shoo-in. I think he’s earned reserve status at the least.

Bregman is going to have a hard time simply because of so many other Astros being deserving and teams requiring to have one selection. Jose Ramirez will be the starter, and then somebody like Moustakas or Chapman will get the reserve because those crappy teams have to have somebody make them. (And currently Chapman is better WAR-wise anyways.)

Chapman plays some great defense at 3B, almost as well as Arenado and Machado. He doesn’t have the hitting yet to be an All Star, though.

Not right now, but even just modest improvement makes him a clearly better all-around 3B. In any case, it's just the fact Oakland will have to have an all-star and the only other close to worthy people as of now are Lowrie and Mengden.

You also have to make allowances for name players who are hitting around the Mendoza line or injured all year will be voted in by idiot fans. That always hurts deserving players.

Yeah but it's getting better lately. I just hope there is no stupid movement this year like the Royals fans did a couple years back. What a waste.
