Yuli sitting, to preserve his Batting title? Will uncle Mike catch him?

I was hoping Yuli could get to .320. Sounds better for a batting title.
P.S. Apparently I missed a lot of drama.

I expect most of the A-team to come out after a couple ABs.

Yuli sitting, to preserve his Batting title? Will uncle Mike catch him? Mathematically possible. If Uncle Mike goes 3 for 3, he'll still fall short. If he goes 4 for 4 he'll pass Yuli.

Yuli sitting, to preserve his Batting title? Will uncle Mike catch him? What do the asterisks mean? I wonder why he didn't give Tucker a partial day off and let him DH instead of having Meyers do it.

Yuli sitting, to preserve his Batting title? Will uncle Mike catch him? What do the asterisks mean? Excellent question. Maybe ɮօʀȶǟʐ can provide the answer or at least give us a link to where that screenshot was taken. It's common practice to use * to indicate a lefty batter and # to indicate a switch hitter. But that's clearly NOT the case for the asterisks used here.

I would like to thank the Invader from the North for joining us on the board this season. Thank you for the kind words, sir. I believe everyone adds a little something to a forum and I'd like to think I add a bit here and there particularly in finding information. I also think you add a TON with your focus on the minors in addition to great posts in other areas of the forum. It's obvious the owner of this forum recognizes your unique contributions, from the way he named a certain board.

Vlad Jr 0-1 so far today. This is exciting like back when we followed Victor Martinez AB’s back in 2014.

Let’s give a hand to Chas McCormick. He’s stuck around with a decent season and kept his average in the .250’s, which is something Marisnick could rarely ever manage.

Chas has had a good season, and, Meyers has been good in the time he's been up. I would rate both ahead of Siri. All three of these guys are much better hitters than Marisnick, who was a defensive specialist. Chas and Meyers both belong on the post season roster.

For all of the panicking, they're finishing the season pretty much where exactly they want to be. They won both series against two good teams (if they hold on today), everybody of importance is off the IL, they were able to rest people down the stretch pretty well, and the offense is looking strong.
They don't have as good of a team on paper as they did in 2019, and their trades haven't worked out as well as the Verlander trade in 2017, but I have a feeling they'll be pretty motivated and pumped for this postseason. Whether Carlos stays or goes, I think they really want another championship before this core of player splits up anymore. (Even if Carlos stays, Yuli, Diaz, and Maldonado only have a year left, Verlander is likely gone, Greinke is likely gone, etc.)

Our staff better do a better job of keeping the ball in the yard. We gave up 4 bombs today. Ugh.

What do the asterisks mean? I dunno...something from Baseball Savant. I didn't notice them until you said something. Ah, knowing where that came from helped in my research. They're using the asterisk to denote the player isn't a qualifier. They have less than 3.1 Plate Appearances per team games played.

In 2018, Yuli led the league in GIDPs and was basically an average-hitting 1B at the age of 34. Three years later at 37, he led the league in AVG.

(Even if Carlos stays, Yuli, Diaz, and Maldonado only have a year left, Verlander is likely gone, Greinke is likely gone, etc.) They struggled last season until the playoffs and then turned it on. The fact that we have been here before should help against the White Sox. Correa has always produced in the post-season and I expect him to again. I have a feeling the country will get introduced to Kyle Tucker in the next few weeks. I think the players, led by Jose Altuve, will try to get Carlos and Crane to work it out so that Carlos stays. Crane has to decide what Correa is worth to this franchise, and, not all of it can be measured in dollars and cents. He has grown up, matured, and become the leader of this team. He is the best SS in the AL if not in all of baseball. He can be depended on to come through in big games. I don't know how much money he would take or the number of years he wants on the contract. I do know that we won't be as good without him because there is nobody to replace him. Correa is a major part of the core of this team. He also means a lot to the city of Houston for what he does off the field. He and Jose Altuve do more good off the field than most people realize.
