Over time, I suspect we'll see more of this as emotions simmer down. Especially if we continue to have success.

....And this is what most of us were saying since Day 1 of this shit. At one time I ventured that 3/4 of the teams in MLB were employing shady tactics to get a competitive advantage, and we were set out to walk the plank as the sacrificial lamb. Just think, why were (are) players not being held accountable for the dirty deeds? Answer? It sure isn't union representation. Bassitt may have just lit a powder keg.
f*** the hypocrites.

Baseball has always been about the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Cubs. The Cardinals to a lesser extent. My theory always has been that Houston was used as a whipping boy because the franchise is expendable in the eyes of MLB. Selig was fine dumping us into the AL after half a century of NL ball. You think they would have put the Yankees in the NL East? Total disrespect. "Your franchise isn't significant so it shouldn't really matter where we dump you to take your beating."
It was fine when we made the playoffs so long as we were eliminated along the way; the "big boys" had to have someone to eliminate, after all. But when we started routinely knocking off the big boys it would not do. Then, the cheating allegations surfaced and the baseball world thought the only reason we won was because of buzzers and bangs. We weren't really a new dynasty emerging, we were cretins who had to cheat to hang with the big boys. All this hatred isn't about stealing signs at all; it's about having the temerity to kick the big boy asses. It's MLB being worried about losing money because a team from fly-over country is better than all the sacred cows. It's about fans of the big boys hating the Astros because they fear them.
