Those who scoff at Strom for mistakes with certain pitchers, while not offering evidence to show that he actually made any mistakes, are normally the same critics who ignore it when the hitting coaches fail to diagnose problems and correct them. Strom is to blame when pitchers screw up, but, hitting coaches are blameless if hitters don't produce. Often, these are the same people who blame a pitcher when infielders make errors that keeps an inning going and runs score as a result of the errors. Where is your evidence that Dusty makes his players fail him? Where did I say that Dusty made the players fail? Where is your evidence that Dusty always plays the right players or inspires them to perform?

You mean we don't have someone that Strom is mentoring? I know some people scoff at the idea/understanding how good he is for this team, But it's been mentioned several times over the years, from players, analysts, etc. You and your uncle keep spewing this nonsense about people scoffing at him being good, when it's just a lie. No one has questioned his success. The only thing that has ever been scoffed at is how you homers refuse to acknowledge when he F***s shit up with certain pitchers or fails to fix obvious issues. I guess you could say he's my uncle, b/c Sherwin is my BFAM and he is Corch JR/2.0.

You’ve never once given any semblance of criticism of Strom whereas Dusty has been your personal piñata all season and the last.

Good luck to you, Brent Strom. I appreciate the work you did while here. Take the hitting coaches with you, please. The team needs a restart.

It is comforting to know that he's essentially been training some in-house replacements. We should be okay...but it's definitely the end of an era. Pitchers, managers, GMs etc. have come and gone but he's been the one constant through this golden age.

I got the feeling that Dusty and Brent were not always on the same thought especially with Pitchers. Brent had a great reputation and that will be missed by the Astros. At this point, this will be a completely new team from coaches on down. I am disappointed that Crane is considering bringing back Dusty. I think the team needs to move on in several areas to change the perceived attitude of the team. Too many players in the last couple of months became no-shows. Saw a Short Post suppose to be from Correa and he basically said in so many words he will be gone. I fully admit that I will not miss him.

I know I may be in the minority, but I just despise showboating in the MLB. That part of the Correa clown show, I will not miss. That is what is so refreshing with addtion of new stars Tucker and Alvarez. (minus Yo's 2021 WS output) Did anyone notice Siri out there almost high 5ing Tucker on his spectaular catch last night? You could almost read Tucker telling him to STFU, and get back in position.

If Dusty impacted the outcomes significantly, then this team was never good to begin with. You bring up a good point from an execution perspective on a short term basis. What percent of games would be decided differently if the manager had made a different decison..... I know woulda, coulda, shoulda's are statistically impossible to quantify. But when you add them up on a 162 game basis, I bet it can be pretty significant, but yes again unquantifiable. Execution wise, I think Baker is sound fundementally in his play calling. I'd give Dusty a B- But then add the element of oversight of work ethic, recogntion of player flaws, properly playing hutches without the grips and constraints of sabermetirics, then I think it becomes evident which managers his staff properly direct an organization toward proper optimization of the talent that they have available. In this aspect Dusty gets in my opinion a D+ in his entire career. Don't forget young arms have been ruined in Dusty's career by player (over) usage. Don't get me wrong, Dusty is not the worst manager ever. I'd put him in the middle quintile of those I have seen in my life. Heaven knows this franchise has endured worse than him through likes Bo Porter, Jimy Williams, and Cecil Cooper.
