And Dusty CONTINUES to make great pitching decisions.
His only big flaw is living or dying with Maldonado and his use of Siri. Although, with Chas struggling I understand why he tried it today.

Fiers’ buddy Rosenthal doing post game interviews with Astros. Someone should shove that bow tie up his rear.

Urquidy had a solid outing, but when did 5 innings and 2 runs become a big deal?

Maybe this Siri guy can convince me to be a fan.... If all three among Meyers, McCormick, and Siri are healthy, Meyers is the best all around player.

What position are you in the running for. Little League Board. I have been on it 8 years running. New guys wanting to come in and take our places. Stay on it. Once a bunch of new ones who are usually know-it-alls with axes to grind come in and mess things up.

Urquidy had a solid outing, but when did 5 innings and 2 runs become a big deal? In today's game, it is considered a dominant performance. He gave us what we needed, and, this bullpen has been lights out the last few games.

Well Altuve woke up. Bregman and Correa...maybe? Jose did wake up. I laughed when the FOX crew said Jose spent BP hitting everything up the middle and to right field. Did they expect him to suddenly stop pulling everything? He had that big double in the first and the home run. Both were pulled. but, both were pitches in the middle or toward the inside part of the plate so they should have been pulled. When he gets in trouble is when he tries to pull on the outer part of the plate or the outside pitch. Bregman had the Sac Fly which was well hit, but, did nothing else. Correa finally hit a breaking pitch to left for his hit and the ball he hit to right was pretty well hit but he got under it. Bregman is the one who needs moved down to about sixth.

Is there a bigger waste of air time anywhere than Joe Buck? Another example where nepotism trumps ability and talent. And I tell ya, I was so inspired by Smoltz' kiddie story of him grabbing an electrical hand rail of his travel trailer. (/s) I think he thought he was being funny, but shit.... he came across like soundng like an idiot. Smoltz was a bad ass pitcher, but how he somehow rose in the ranks of sports color analysis is beyond me. They really need to hire Deshaies.

Is there a bigger waste of air time anywhere than Joe Buck? As much as people hate Buck, at least he doesn’t act like someone peed in his lemonade like Smoltz when the Astros score.

I just have to jump in here long enough to say that Siri is a stone idiot. Absolutely no plate discipline. None. Why on earth would anyone ever throw him a strike? Also, why would Dusty put him in the lineup knowing that the opposing pitcher could throw the ball over the backstop and he'd swing at it? But..., but..., he’s fast...., and he’s a good cheerleader! Siri is definitely the type of cholo I would have gotten into a fight with at a bar when I was younger and wilder.

Is there a bigger waste of air time anywhere than Joe Buck? AJ Pierzynski How that douche bag got that far in the color analysis booth is an epic mystery. Universally unlikeable. Remember our thread of 20 biggest AH's in Astros history? This f'er probably is in the top 5 in W Sox history.... Up there neck and neck with Eddie Cicotte.

Overall, I don't mind Buck and I actually like Smoltz a lot of the time.
Buck can focus too much on one hot player, but I do believe he is actually pretty fair to both teams.
And, they aren't going on about the sign-stealing. So kudos to them for that.

I think he's made an effort to keep his ATL bias in check, and has spoken well of several Astros players.

I think Siri’s reactions are generally out of surprise more than anything. As far as him pimping homers, there’s not really an excuse for that.

But, if Dusty is still around, he will lobby to keep him. The network guys keep quoting Dusty as saying Siri "has as much talent as anyone on our roster".
