I could be wrong but I think the Astros can easily win the division again next year. Quick thoughts on the other teams in the division.
A’s: Lost their manager to the Padres. He will be extremely hard to replace, meaning it is hard to imagine they improve next year.
Angels: Will be a .500 team until they improve their pitching and Trout stays healthy.
Rangers: Not a good team. Will be fighting for worst record in the MLB again.
Mariners: This team gives me the most worry. I think they will compete with us all year but won’t have enough to surpass us quite yet.

I think we win the division again, but it's obvious we need more starting pitch depth.

Athletics are probably cutting payroll and the Rangers are reportedly going to spend more money.
If the Angels get a legit starting pitcher or two, they'll be our biggest rival. If not, Seattle will be.

I agree with you about the Angels. If Trout and Rendon return healthy their offense should be formidable. If they add some pitching they could be tough. I can’t imagine Seattle repeating the kind of year they had this year. They won 90 games in 2021 in spite of the fact that they had a -51 run differential. That’s not likely to happen again. The A’s are really going to miss Bob Melvin. That and they are going to trade away some of their best talent to cut payroll. I don’t see them as a threat. Then you have the Rangers. Nuff said.
