I don't know why I'm surprised that you all are already giving up on Lee when he's played in fewer games than Olpapa has. Not me. I think Lee should be our backup the rest of the year. They need to be resting Maldonado more now if they think we need him for the postseason. Same. If you still want Maldonado catching 4-of-5 days then just let Lee be the 1-2 times per week guy. If you're going to bring in someone new, make it a frontline guy that will be a real asset; don't bother with some declining vet that likely won't bring anything to the table.

You mean you don’t want Eric Kratz?

Done? And who’s in love with Siri? You’re aware we can all see your posts, correct? Lee needs time. He can easily be a good backup with a potential to be more I hate Siri’s hitting and showboating, but I appreciate his speed and defense, and both would be valuable in the postseason. Siri, along with Meyers and Chas don’t seem to be of starting timber.

Fans acted like he was the greatest thing since sliced bread. His defense was great until he had to go back on a ball. He couldn’t steal or hit for average. He hit a home run once in a while and was beloved to no end.

Dirden had two more hits and a walk after his bomb today. Thanks to that his total line for the month of July was .412/.500/.741. He is 30-for-57 (.526) with five bombs over his last 14 games.

After struggling somewhat in April - June. Pedro Leon looked really good in July. BA .278, OBP .435, SLG .486, OPS .921. He walked more times (16) than he struck out (13) in 72 AB.
Meyers is not the player he was before he was injured in the playoffs last fall. I’m not saying he will never be the player he was before the injury. He’s just not right now. If we don’t trade for an outfielder, would you send Meyers down and bring up Leon now?

With McDermott gone, the newest member of the Top 30 prospect list is Dirden. Here's the MLB.com report on him:
"Strong and physical at 6-foot-3 and 209 pounds, Dirden's top tool is his plus raw left-handed power. He consistently launches balls to his pull side, and while his approach comes with some strikeouts, he also works counts and draws walks. He has enough feel for hitting that he could bat .260 with 20 homers and 60 walks per season if he reaches his ceiling. While his offensive game is what makes Dirden most attractive, he also provides some deceptive athleticism. He shows fringy speed out of the batter's box but is at least average once he gets going and can steal an occasional base. With his quickness and average arm strength, he's capable of playing all three outfield spots and has seen more action in center than on the corners this season."

MLB.com on Jayden Murray, who is now on our Top 30 list:
"It's hard to believe that Murray was a $3,000 senior sign considering his success and his stuff. His fastball sits at 92-95 mph while topping out at 97 with good carry, and his sweeping low-80s slider gives him a second solid to plus offering. He also uses a fringy changeup that can get too firm and will need to improve to help him better combat left-handers. Murray enhances his pitches with plus control and solid command. His deceptive delivery and his feel for sequencing his offerings helps keep hitters off balance. Promoted to Triple-A just before the Mancini trade, he has the upside of a No. 4 starter."
