If JV wins the CY and has a good postseason, I think we can easily start the bidding at 2-year $80 million. IMO Verlander is the heart of this team. I would let him name his contract in order to stay with us. |

Watch all nine of Brown's punchouts. Bring this dude up already. Did you notice the helpless look of the batters as they walked away after he blew them away? He is being wasted at AAA. Astros could use that arm now. I would have no problem with him being added to the rotation now, but it would sure be nice to have another arm in the pen who could be called on to just come in and blow batters away. His ERA as a reliever is 1.16 as opposed to 3.29 as a starter. His WHIP as a reliever is 0.87 as opposed to 1.30 as a starter. |

I don't think McCullers is a good enough pitcher to make the transition from starter to reliever. Guys that succeed doing that are HOFers (Eckersley, Smoltz) and he ain't them

Plus, we aren't a town that invades your privacy. I see him having three different approaches to the postseason: 1. I'm still the best and I want people to recognize I am the best. I will take the most money I get offered from any playoff caliber team. 2. I like this mini-dynasty we've built in Houston. I want to hopefully continue that to add to my legacy. If they pay me close to what I think I'm worth, I'm all in without a hassle. 3. I have a couple specific teams that I would like to play for before I retire. If they get close to what I think I'm worth, I'm all in even if Houston offers me similar. |

I just checked the Sugar Land box score for tonights’s game. The.box score indicates that Pedro Leon was hit by a pitch in his first at bat and was replaced in the lineup. Haven’t found any explanation as to the nature or extent of his injury so far.
