Really surprised with some of the names still out there. Who knows what Click is thinking though.

MLB.com: "A fiery competitor who plays with a lot of emotion, Gilbert has an aggressive approach but also the hand-eye coordination to regularly barrel balls. His left-handed swing can get big when he gets too concerned with home runs, and he'd be a better hitter if he focused more on making quality contact. His bat speed and strength give him enough raw pop to hit 15-20 homers per season without selling out. Gilbert has solid to plus speed and will steal and take extra bases. While he's not a true burner, his quickness and instincts allow him to run down balls from gap to gap in center field. His plus arm strength would allow him to play anywhere in the outfield, and he also showed feel for spinning a curveball and aptitude for throwing a changeup while drawing some Tim Collins comparisons in high school."
Keith Law: "Gilbert was a two-way prospect out of a Minnesota high school but had a strong commitment to Tennessee, so he wasn’t drafted until the hometown Twins took him in the 35th round in 2019. He’s only thrown 16 innings for the Vols, none this spring, but he’s turned into a premium defensive center fielder with a strong eye at the plate and ability to hit for average. Gilbert rarely swings and misses, staying back even through contact, with minimal weight transfer — possibly an avenue for a player development group to try to get another half-grade of power out of him. In center, he’s a 6 defender with a 6 arm, doing it more with reads and instincts than pure speed, as he’s just a tick above average as a runner. The defense and contact skills give him a good chance to be a regular, although there’d have to be something more — more power, greater patience — to make him a star."
Fangraphs: "Gilbert is a top-of-the-order catalyst with plus speed and a discerning eye. While he will occasionally ambush a high fastball for a pull-side homer, he does most of his extra-base damage by yanking doubles down the right field line or by slicing them the other way, and he's very good at bending at the waist to cover the outer third of the zone, poking liners into shallow center. A plus runner, Gilbert can really go get it in center field and has an above-average arm. He plays with an edge, the kind of player you love to have on your team but hate to play against, with his on-field persona toeing the line between "fiery" and "excessively abrasive." While unlikely to have impact power, Gilbert does everything else and profiles as a table-setting center fielder."

JC Correa was 2-for-4 with a bomb today BTW. 1.123 OPS in July while continuing to learn catching.
Justin Dirden is on fire in AA. He hits 15 hits in his last five games. Has a .960 OPS and flashing near-30 HR power this season.

I love Gilberts game. The only thing that worried me at first is his size. I changed my mind on the size issue when my son mentioned one Mr. Altuve...

I did not think this guy would still be around when we got around to being on line. Kind of hard to figure out why he was still there, maybe a size issue but any team with Altuve on it is not going to get all wrapped up in how big someone is.

Might go with an arm next. Somehow Brock Porter is still on the board, and both of Whisenhunt and Prielipp. Still a ways to go before pick 64 but there haven't been a lot of arms taken, so plenty of talent out there.

I want Jonathan Cannon. Sp from Georgia. He has an era under 1 in 3 cape code games.

Another guy I like who is surprisingly still available is Tyler Locklear. 1B only so maybe that's why he's fallen, but the hit tool looks very legit. Been a while since we've had a really good hit tool 1B prospect and Yuli might be at the end of his rope.
