He handcuffed the Angels for years with Pujols', Hamilton's, and Rendon's contracts. He always said he would go over the luxury tax for the right player but never did. Good Riddance P.S. I think Ohtani's health issues are behind him. The Angels are in the 2nd largest market, they draw 3,000,000 fans a year even when they're bad. They should attract some high rollers, l hoping (unrealistically) for Steve Balmer of the clippers.

If the new owners want to win, they better trade Trout. Why would they Trade Trout just as our SP became good last year and the offense fell apart? It doesn't sound like they're trading Ohtani either, especially since Arte doesn't want to break up the team just as he plans to sell the team. |

It doesn't sound like they're trading Ohtani either, especially since Arte doesn't want to break up the team just as he plans to sell the team. Trout's been injury prone, and hasn't given the Angels a full season in 7 years. He's locked in 7 more years till 2031 at $37M annually. And at age 31, you think he is going to get or stay healthy? I don't think he'll be the albatross Pujols was, but as an ivestment, I'd say his best value is in the past. This year he hit 40 HR's and 80 RBI's on 124 hits. Almost shades of Dave Kingman. |

Because some team would be stupid enough to give up their farm for him. When Trout had a chance to jump ship, Philly was waiting. He passed it up to go back and enjoy the misery. He is from New Jersey and is at every Eagle home game, most likely would have received the same contract there. |
