I saw somewhere that Altuve was going to have the day off today anyways, so we'll see if he's able to come back tomorrow or over the weekend.
JV going for win #18 in his quest for his 3rd CY. Can't take Baltimore for granted anymore though!

The pitcher with officially the best control in the league (based on walks per 9 innings) suddenly threw a sinker on an 0-2 count (with the first two pitches both on the outside of the plate) high and inside to Altuve hitting him on the elbow. I'm sure that fact that there were 2 outs in the inning with a much lesser hitter on deck had nothing to do with it. Especially when Altuve was tearing their asses up all series, and this was going to be his last time face Altuve this series (maybe this year). The same pitcher that was on the 2018 Cleveland Indians who we demolished in the ALDS and Altuve homered against. A year that we were supposedly still doing some kind of sign-stealing. I'm sure none of that means anything and it was a completely innocent mistake.

I don't feel like we do enough to defend our hitters sometimes.

I think you are correct from an organizational standpoint. However I think Dusty just may go old school out of habit. One thing I do like about him.

Great catch by Yordan in LF. Though, I wish he wasn't playing in LF, this close to the playoffs.

Is this orioles pitcher with an almost 5 era, the same guy we struggled against in Houston?

Lets see, Verlander versus a guy with a 5 era, that does not happen often. Guy with a 5 era pitches against us and looks like Verlander, that happens far too often.

Yup in Houston. He threw 8 shut out innings of 2 hit ball.

Some kind of BS is going on when a frontrunner for the Cy Young can’t get a swing and miss all game.
