So Taillon for the year:
14-5 3.91 ERA
1. Averaged 5.5 IP per start. 2. Virtually identical production against the splits. .713 OPS for Righties and .711 for Lefties. 3. Almost a run per game worse on the road (4.36 ERA). 4. Also slightly worse in the 2nd half, although he had a solid Sep/Oct. 5. Big struggles in high leverage situations. 6. There is almost zero chance they will let him face hitters a 3rd time unless he has a big lead. 3rd time facing him: .297 AVG .805 OPS 7. He does better when Higashioka catches him but Trevino caught him slightly more. 8. We kicked his *ss when we saw him during the regular season: 5.2 IP 6 ER 10 Hits 2 HR 3 K - Bregman, Yordan, and Altuve basically beat the living sh*t out of him collectively going 7-13 2 HR 5 Runs 6 RBI

Keys for success today in my opinion: Be patient at the plate because Taillon struggles with runners on base. We faced him once earlier this year and did well. JV needs to make sure Judge/Stanton don't beat him with HRs. We know they both swing at offspeed junk so pitch them high and inside with fastballs and sliders off the plate.

Verlander against the Yankees (regular season career):
9-7 3.44 ERA
We all know what he did against them in the 2017 ALCS:
2-0 0.56 ERA 16 IP 21 K .750 WHIP

Neither Judge nor Stanton should see a fastball in the strike zone at any time during this series. Neither of them can hit a good breaking pitch….. especially Stanton. It is comical watching him wave at a good curveball.

This reminds me of that dumbass stros4me from the old board. When you wanted to achieve a certain number of posts he started making posts that were nothing more than the numbers. First post, 1. Second post, 2. Third post, 3….. etc, etc. My ranking of the most annoying posters over the years: 1. POP 2. Stros4me 3. Corch

Career 0-3 Hensley: has not faced Taillon Based on this Vasquez should start at Catcher tonight. However, with JV pitching we know it will be Maldonado in the lineup. At least he is 4-10 in his career versus Taillon!

On paper, this is a game heavily in our favor:
1. The Starting Pitching Matchup. 2. The Yankees partied last night and didn't land in Houston until 0100 this morning. 3. The Astros have everybody completely rested.

Have the Astros announced their ALCS roster? I would think that it will be the same as the ALDS roster.

Yankees just announced their ALCS roster. No Aaron Hicks. No Marwin Gonzalez. No Lucas Luetge. No LaMahieu. No Beniintendi.
They added Oswald Peraza, Greg Weissert and Frankie Montas.

I was torn, for paying $306 a ticket, for third row Crawford box seats tonight. Or game 1 world series, paying $692 a ticket, for section 155, row 9. The service fees are outrageous If I get two tickets, I’ll try to get my knees ready.

That Benintendi trade ended up horrible for the Yankees. They gave up three prospects and $3 million dollars for 33 regular season games...
