I have been saying this from Day 1. There is a reason this SOB has gone to this level of longevity (record holder) without winning it all. He is a choking POS. He sucks!!!!!
2019- Against the Nationals- We were Strong Favorites 2021- Against the Braves- We were Strong Favorites 2022- Against the Phillies- We are Significant, and possibly overwhelming Favorites
And we come up empty handed all three years?
What we saw tonight with Baker masterbating while McCullers was getting shelled? Baseball will be talking about this game for decades.
What a waste of 3 years of talent

I just looked it up:
2022 Postseason: Lance McCullers: 15.1 IP, 10 ER (5.87 ERA) Justin Verlander: 15 IP, 12 ER (7.20 ERA) Astros bullpen: 44.1 IP, 4 ER (0.81 ERA)
McCullers allowed more runs in five innings than the entire bullpen has allowed during the entire post-season. He allowed the same number in just the first two innings. And Dusty just keeps the starter in there while they're getting pounded and their mechanics are falling apart.

Baker's got cerebral brain lock, and thinks the game adjusts to his plans and not vice versa. I think he's always been a clownish buffoon, who had no business managing a contending. ball team. He's more perfect for managing the Royals and Pirates, who need a dugout filler who can mail it home for the 70 wins a year. We've been screwed.

Oh man, look at Dusty's explaination.
"When it's 4-0 in this ballpark, you don't want to go through your whole pitching staff, because 4-0 in this ballpark is really nothing the way the ball flies here," Baker said. “"So what can I say?"
That's really what he came back with. He has an elite, rested bullpen with multiple long men in it, and he didn't want to go with them because...a four run lead is nothing in CBP? What?
Just insane.

Dusty hasn't been on his game, but the offense can't pick now to fall dormant either. If Altuve and Yordan can't get some hits and move runs across the plate, it won't matter how Dusty uses the bullpen.
Their best four hitters have been better than our best four hitters.

There was plenty enough offense to win game one. Astros are down 2-1 when they should be up 2-1 and that rests solely on Dusty.

Just adding that the offense can't go quiet now.

Have at it with Dusty. He can’t be defended for just sitting there watching it all go to shit. Whether it’s Dusty or Hinch, they keep letting young and desperate managers routinely outmaneuver them instead of operating out of hope.

What the heck is he talking about? That so-called explanation speaks volumes as to why a team he managed has never won a World Series.

I guess since Dusty has been operating on a one-year contract that is set to expire this offseason, technically Dusty would not be “fired” if Crane chooses to not sign him to another contract.

Yes, but I’d march in there one day ahead of contract expiration and fire his ass. Of course I can be a vengeful bastard. Your mileage may vary.

Can you imagine how many attorneys would contact Dusty if Crane walked into the clubhouse and fired Dusty after game 3. There would be so many libtards panties in a wad that commerce would have to cease in some places due to lack of a workforce.

I understand Ortiz' legacy, but when you have to strain to understand his Latin accent, it really detracts from the listening/watching experience. OTOH, I detest Smoltz' play by play who takes his over freakin analysis of pitch by pitch to incredibly boring detail. There are other asepcts of the game that are just as interesting and are sadly overlooked.

I just can’t stand his endless rah rah crap formulating how the Phillies can come back to beat us.

One of the great things about sports is the local broadcast crew, assuming you have a good one. They actually know the team and the individuals and stories and when they did what and the feelings of the fanbase. There's a real connection there. And when the most critical, widely-watched games get played, they just throw all that away for some cardboard cutout robots with no passion or close knowledge of the teams and players they are covering. I say again that national broadcasts need to make use of a neutral play-by-play man with the team's respective color guys forming a three-man both with the PBP dude. The broadcasts would be worlds better, informative, entertaining etc.
