It's amazing the Rays have 6 runs and no homers. They've homered in every game this year These aren’t the old Rays. They are more than just pitching and defense. They should go deep into the playoffs They've set records with their start we haven't seen teams set in 100 years |

At least our key relievers got a night off, I suppose. Without Yordan and the others, this lineup is quickly looking very non-threatening.

Julks and Diaz with rotten games when we really needed a boost with Yordan out. 6-9 combine to go 1-13 where that had been a strength recently.
Hopefully Yordan is good to go soon, and Chas and Brantley get cleared.

Tonight's Game showed how far they are behind Teams like Tampa. As long as Dusty insists on playing Maldy with his .159 avg is auto-out.

Tonight's Game showed how far they are behind Teams like Tampa. As long as Dusty insists on playing Maldy with his .159 avg is auto-out. They’re behind at the moment, sure. Take away Chaz, Alvarez, Altuve, Brantley and McFragile and substitute Meyers, Diaz, Dubon, Julks and Urquidy and this is what you get. Plus TB is playing well, well over their heads at the moment. Blistering paces in April tend to become doldrums later. We’ll see. |

They just took 2 of 3 from the Blue Jays, and swept the Braves. Half of their starting hitters were not playing: Alvarez, Altuve, Brantley and McCormick. And Urquidy was pitching. |

It's just a bad game. They've looked really good lately. The pitching had an off night and our lineup is a little weak right now.

So Maldonado is now down to a .151 AVG with a .450 OPS for the season. He also had a passed ball, and allowed a stolen base while his pitchers gave up 8 earned runs in 8 innings.
I'm sure he's a nice guy and he'll probably make a fine coach...but it's time to move on. Lee and Diaz may not be anything special, but they certainly can't be any worse.

On the plus side... Bregman continues to look good, Pena continues to contribute even while his AVG and OBP are on the low side, and Meyers continue his positive trend.
