and several other HOF members.  And didn’t even get a sniff of the HOF.  I get that he didn’t have the numbers, but he was a heck of a player.

My theory is that he didn't reach enough secondary milestones (2000 hits, 400 HRs, etc.). Same thing I believe hurt Dick Allen.

The percentages were Hall-worthy, but voters wanted to see the totals.

I didn’t expect him to be enshrined, but I also didn’t expect him to fall off the ballot after the first year.
