Don't worry, guys. Maldonado is helping us win games. Dusty says so.

Ol’ Dustbag should have rode off into the sunset after last season.

Altuve's swings and stretching looked awkward that AB. I wonder if the oblique is still bothering him.

So Pena and Altuve go 0-8. Good unnecessary lineup change, Dusty.

Need to sweep the Guardians this weekend. Will be hard to do if we are without our only consistent offensive weapon in Yordan.

Peña is not a leadoff hitter if he can’t make contact and strikes out all the livelong day. Just stop it, Dusty.

How does a team with this much talent just go through stretches where they are just a disgrace to watch.

How does a team with this much talent just go through stretches where they are just a disgrace to watch. I’m starting to come to Todd’s realization with Peña at least. Kid is a clutch hitter, but that doesn’t make him a good hitter overall. They throw him into the top of the order in hopes that he will become this heir apparent to Springer and Altuve, but he’s just not that guy. We need to give credit to the young hitters and the bottom of the lineup because the big hitters not named Yordan have been passing the buck all year and have relied on the minor league guys and Dubón to get it going and sustain rallies. If you look at the Rangers, every hitter is contributing in some way. If the team is going to sit around and wait for Meyers, McCormick, Julks, Dubón, and (whenever the heck Dusty feels like playing) Yainer to drive in runs, say goodbye to the division.

I think this offense can get going. But it will take Dusty stopping his favoritism and somebody stepping up and telling him he needs to use at least *some* statistical data when he builds his lineup cards and when it's late in games. We have seen what offense will work most days:Altuve 2B Pena SS Yordan DH Bregman 3B Tucker RF Chas LF Diaz C/1B Meyers CF Abreu/Maldonado 1B/C If Yordan is out, I'm doing a lot of this for now:Dubon 2B Pena SS Altuve DH Bregman 3B Tucker RF Chas LF Diaz C/1B Meyers CF Abreu/Maldonado 1B/C Put guys in a position where we know they have succeeded in the past, and play the guys that are getting the results. If it's late in the game, and you need to drive in a run or get people on base, pinch hit. There are manager moves not being made. When you're not generating a lot of offense, you need to try and manufacture some runs. We have guys that can bunt. We have guys that can hit and run. Use them. Actually manage. I know Dusty likes Julks and Maldonado, and I know Dubon has had a good season... But you have better players that need to start most of the time. Julks and Dubon are solid cost effective bench players. Maldonado should not be an every day catcher any longer. And, when he does catch, he needs to be pinch hit for late in games. Players need days off for sure, but not all at the same time and certainly not at home, and definitely not against pitchers they've had great success against. These should be no-brainer decisions.

Abreu has the third most at bats on the team. His performance is rancid at best. Julks has the seventh most at bats and has a lower ops than both Meyers and McCormick. Go figure. Something is wrong with Abreu. He needs to be put on the disabled list and have a complete medical exam done. Trade for someone who can play both first and left field. Someone who has some power as both slots are supposed to be guys who provide power. Abreu and Julks aint going to get it done and now we are losing sight of the Rangers. Seems like a little sense of urgency is needed instead of someone who is content with polishing his old trophies.

So yeah look at his history and try to explain to me why he sucks worse than a super charged hoover. If he aint hurt then what, more time has become to much time.

At this point I’m not sure if the organization would risk saving face to acknowledge Abreu has been a huge disappointment. I have no reason to believe they would divert from the status quo regarding his playing time.
