Valdez vs. Berrios
Our pitching doesn't seem to really matter. Can the offense score 4 or more runs? Altuve and Pena need to get hot again and spark the top of the order.
Since the grand slam, Jose is 1-16 with 1 BB. (Although he did barely miss a hit in the 1st inning yesterday.) Meanwhile, Pena is 2-14 with 8 Ks over his last 3 games.

So now Pena is leading off and Altuve is second... I just don't understand. Pena has been awesome hitting 2nd, and Altuve is better hitting leadoff. Why are you now changing this when your offense is struggle?

I know I am not the baseball expert though I am tired of Dusty managing this year. I think he is doing an awful job of managing the players he has to their detriment. He should have never gone for another year.

I suspect it's hard not to have an ego when every day Dusty reads and hears a bunch of experts conversing about how awesome he is. The silver lining for me is our new GM isn't as much of a yes-man as I thought. He agreed with the fans before the season about stunted development and the kid getting lots of at-bats. He constructed the roster specifically to create more opportunities with that in mind, and it wouldn't surprise me if now Yainer is finally starting to get more opportunities because Brown expressed his concerns about it with ownership. It is what caused Altuve to miss 4 games. Hopefully the same scenario for Yordan. Back on Monday I hope, if not sooner. |
