It’s hard to defend Dusty now. He literally left Martinez out there to die because he didn’t want to tire out Abreu and wanted to rest the unused pitchers, but he puts Maldonado right back out there. You can’t make this stuff up.

If I was Dusty the game plan would be as follows. Both bullpens are taxed so have your hitters taking pitches, fouling off pitches, go deep in counts. Make the Gaurdians go to the bullpen early. However, Dusty is the manager so his strategy if possible would be just let Maldy hit in all 9 spots.
