This is what I'd do if I were manger til Yordan gets back. I agree with Bregman and Tucker getting more rest cause of all the starts they had early on though. I think that's related to them disappointing at the plate

When you put dumb lineups out there and refuse to make obvious in-game decisions, like pinch-hitting for your hapless catcher in critical spots, you are giving away wins.
It's a miracle this team won the World Series with this manager last year.

It's a miracle this team won the World Series with this manager last year. The Astros won the World Series with a cruise control bullpen, which isn’t the case this season. They really need to step in and get rid of Maldonado or something. Dusty will ride that horse off a cliff and refuses to pull him from games or reduce his 80% or greater playing time. They’re stuck sitting around waiting for guys like Bregman to not suck for weeks at a time, but not playing Maldonado almost everyday is an easy fix to the hapless offense. It’s mid-June. They can’t afford to sit around anymore and say “it’ll come around”. This team needs pitching and hitting. Not being able to compete in close games is a thing now. They have to fix it whether by getting some players by the deadline, firing Cintrón/Snitker, or something else. The product on the field is barely the caliber of a postseason let alone championship team. |
