Why does Quid need Maldonado catching for him?

Far from unexpected for a Sunday.

I’m at this game. Disappointed in the lineup. Diaz should be in there.

OlPapa mentioned a few times Bill Doran was one of his favorite Astros. He would've been at the game Doran was inducted to the team HOF

Hoping the Astros saved the fireworks for a late come back.

Need a big hit here. Too bad Dusty is playing Kessinger.

If Singleton wants the job, he has got to stop being helpless on outside pitches.

I have a novel concept, we have two guys on the bench who can tie the game easily with one swing of the bat and a guy at the plate with a 200 average and minimal power. Why not pinch hit for him.

Do they care about first place or is the focus on resting players? The Rangers keep winning while the Astros keep dropping random games against inferior opponents. Another 0/8 with RISP. That’s not good baseball.

I didn't get to watch any of this but it looks like I didn't miss anything. Urquidy with a good start at least.

That’s not good baseball. I just saw a chart on the relative strength of schedule for all mlb teams. Houston had the 6th toughest strength of schedule played to date. The Rangers were 23. The Rangers have the 6th toughest remaining schedule to finish the year and the Astros the 16th toughest. After you factor in the remaining strength of the balance of this month and look at the remaining schedule it should favor the Astros greatly if we finish this month at close to where we are right now. Right now it does not concern me greatly that we are behind, just the unforced errors that we seem to be making almost daily.

They can’t be beholden to throwing away Sunday games by not pushing their chips on the table. They’re lucky the Rangers allowed a walkoff because the Giants showed no pulse on offense that series. Relying on the Rangers to lose isn’t enough. It’s sheer nonsense that guys like Kessinger and Maldonado are allowed to hit late in close games.
