So do the Phillies put away the final 100-Win team tonight? I might actually watch Strider vs. the Phillies lineup today.
Mookie and Freeman collectively went 1-21 in the NLDS. Mookie never got a hit. Is the media going to harp on it the way they did Altuve last year? I think not.

I’m here to eat crow concerning J. Abreu. He came up huge the last two games. At least I’ll have the memories of his recent performances the next time he dribbles a soft grounder to 2b in a big situation. But dang, if he and Alvarez can stay hot for three weeks we may not need much more help. Serve the crow in a trough so we can all get in there to gnosh. |

Just discovered that Jose Abreu has some shocking splits this year:
Bases Empty .207/.261/.303
Men On .272/.336/.476
RISP .275/.350/.556
That's a .342 increase from bases empty to RISP! His bases empty OPS is just a hair higher than his RISP slugging percentage alone. Also, in 83 PA with RISP and 2 outs, he hit .387/.446/.747 (1.193 OPS!!!). Maybe Dusty should put him right after Yordan and before Tucker again...

Watching weeks of Abreu cool his jets at the plate with the bases empty and Brantley on the IL for what they're getting paid was pretty tedious. For the moment the universe is right again though
