We have not hit our stride as yet and are 15 games over. Wonder how good we can run when we start clicking on all cylinders.

The tale of the season is in one-run games. Imagine how far above .500 they’d be if they won more close games.

Poor McHugh. We’re rooting for him to be useful. I am rooting for him to take Keuchel's spot in the rotation.

Verlander was not as sharp as usual, but, he is still better than most. Clutch hits when we needed them. I just wish we didn't have brain cramps on the bases as often. The Mariners won another one-run game. They will cool off after they start playing the Yankees and Red Sox.

Had to settle for reading the box score on today's game. Looks like the Astros are up to the challenge, such as it is, of playing the Rangers.
Nice to see Correa resting and other guys holding down the fort. Though I'd prefer he do a full 10 days on the DL rather than this ambiguous 'day to day' thing.
Yuli could perhaps use a 10 day holiday too. White and Reed and more than capable of filling in while the main starters keep themselves in good shape for the postseason.
As temps rise, Altuve's HR power should return, somewhat.
Next 2 matchups give the Astros a solid chance at a sweep. Just take it one inning at a time.

The Mariners are going to be tuff the rest of the way. No way the Astros have shown that Grit this year

Starting pitching usually wins in the end and the Astros are vastly superior in that department. Paxton is the only guy they have that is on the level with Verlander and Cole. "King Felix" doesn't scare me.

You are probably right about Keuchel, I have never liked the idea of letting a guy walk when you can get something for him.

Who and what is someone willing to give up for Keuchel .. and why would they do that in light of everything you've been typing about him the last two months

He should only be offered to an NL contender and all we could expect to get back should be prospects........a deal along the lines of what we gave for Randy Johnson back in 98. What I have typed about him is what he has done on the field. Too many people keep remembering his Cy Young year.......He has been going downhill ever since. We probably had made the decision to let him go when the trade was made for Cole. Getting Cole was a great deal even if we planned to keep Keuchel.

No way would any team give up prospects in exchange for Keuchel who would be anywhere near what the Astros gave up for Randy Johnson.

No way would any team give up prospects in exchange for Keuchel who would be anywhere near what the Astros gave up for Randy Johnson. I agree. My main point is why should we keep him and let him walk. It would be different if he were getting us good results. He has lost nearly one-third of the team's losses. True,he has been matched up against the opposing team's ace much of the time and hasn't gotten great run support, but, it is his job to keep us in the game and give us a chance to win. Too many times, we are 3-4 runs behind after a couple of innings. If we didn't have other options to move into the rotation, it would be different, but, McHugh would probably be an improvement over what we are getting from Keuchel. If we wanted to get a good player for him, we would have to throw in good prospects on our end. Hitters have figured out what to swing at and what to let go and it's costing him. I mainly tired of watching Keuchel throw batting practice like he did against the Mariners.

If he was earning his spot in the rotation, we wouldn't need to get rid of him..........you can't win today based on what he did in 2015. hard to sell what appears to be used up.

This dude wants to get rid of Dallas and also throw some prospects in to do it. I could sell him some beach front property in Nevada.
