Trump is so mad at Sessions, it looks like he's going to back Elizabeth Warren's bill to de-federalize marijuana. A writer on redstate.com said if he does that, he'll lock up the millennial vote in 2020 and put the Libertarian Party out of business at the same time

Never been a proponent of legalization, but we have to face facts ....... This roughly 80 year war on MJ has had about the same success that prohibition had in the 20's.
AG Sessions should be focusing on bigger things like immigration enforcement.

Ron Mann did a great documentary 18 years ago called Grass about how ridiculous the government's cost, efforts and wasted resources have been trying to eradicate a plant going back to 1914. Woody Harrelson narrates it

Woody and Vice-President Pence were buddies at Hanover College in Indiana. I never knew that. When Woody would name-drop Hanover in Cheers I always thought it was a made-up place. Apparently it's a real place with a college campus

I’m fine with legalizing MJ as long as private businesses can still outlaw it for employees. I don’t want cabbies, pilots, and civil engineers all slow and red-eyed on the job.

So basically giving it the same status as alcohol. Not totally disagreeing, but the stuff is a terrible de-motivator and "brain-number" for the chronic user. But OTOH... I guess the same could also be said about booze to a certain degree.

Booze, Maryjane no difference in the two when it comes to controlling someone life. You want to smoke, Smoke it, You Want to Drink every night a couple 6packs Drink. It's your life just don't expect me to pay for your medical bills.
This is from someone who quit both around 33 years ago.

Putting someone in Jail for something that does the same as Alcohol doesn't make sense. Except Alcohol does whole lot more damage to your body that Pot could ever do. Except for make lungs. Not enough study on that effect.

Completely destroying a young person life over a couple few Joints never made sense to me. It only helps the Underground Black Market and the Kingpins who could care less what it gets cut with. Legalize it and half of the kids who move on to harder drugs doesn't happen. Remember its the Pusher who want you to try the Next Great High. Once he has you, he owns your life. Not enough BAD things to can happen to a Hard Core Pusher, destroying lives on a daily basis so he can drive the next Hot Car etc.

His Sophomore year he started smoking pot, and he ended finally eeking out Liberal Arts degree after 6 years. He never tried anything harder, but the de-motivation aspects of this stuff ruined his future.

If you’re motivated pot can help the motivation. If you’re motivated to mow your yard pot can help the motivation. For example, when I got up this morning and was getting ready to mow my back yard....uh....I better stop.

I'm not debating that aspect of Smoking Weed. Then again drink a six pack or two and only thing you're thinking of doing is going to get a couple more them six-packs.

I'm about as conservative as they come, but I don't have any issue with the decriminalizing of weed, especially medical weed. Anyone whose life will be ruined by legal weed is probably already ruining their life with (easily obtained) illegal weed.

The only thing keeping week illegal is a forest of lies from Big Pharm and those who are in bed with them including the KingPins that are the main supplier. Just like Prohibition was on Booze. Making Millionaires and Billionaires out of the KingPins. Make it Legal and now you will not have a jail full of kids who's only thing was having enough pot for the cops to charge him with dealing. Never really getting the Main supplier who's paying off the authorities anyway.

I won't protest if it's legalized, but I think it would be a mistake. First, it isn't "harmless" as some would have you believe. There isn't a large amount of data regarding its deleterious effects, but the limited amount we know regarding long-term use suggests it could be as bad or even worse than cigarettes. Its effects on lung tissue and brain function are just now beginning to be studied and understood and without citing specific studies or going onto a boring scientific treatise, the results are not good and it isn't harmless. Second, the "economic boon" cited by some from legally regulating the trade will probably turn out to be a sham. While the state receives additional tax dollars, the average citizen will see his health insurance premiums rise (yet again) to treat marijuana-based health issues and since marijuana users are typically involved in more traffic accidents you can bet your auto insurance premiums will rise as well. Pot users also call in sick to work more often, are generally less productive and less motivated and lose IQ points while using. I don't think we need more absentee, dumb, unmotivated folks in the workforce. Third, people cite the tax dollars as being earmarked for "education" and other worthy causes. We were sold this same bill of goods 20+ years ago when the state lottery was proposed. The money has never paid much toward education (funding about 10 days worth state-wide at its peak), but it's even less now (about 3 days). Those who play it are generally the poorest among us making it a hidden tax on the poor (look it up). I fear pot will be the same; a net-negative. Fourth, if California is for it, you can generally be safe by going the opposite direction in whatever topic is being discussed.

If it’s not legalized it won’t keep those that want it, from getting it. Pot should be legal compared to alcohol. Alcohol is a horrible drug.

15KT has over 33 years of No Drinking or Smoking or any partaking. Now if you want to know something about that I can also testify to that. I actually took a Course at Miami Dade on Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. 95% of the Class Mates Where Narcs. Thought that was interesting. Be at a party see a couple come in I would slide out the back door.
Weed is Minor compared to what Alcohol and Hard Drugs do to your body especially Speed. Yes, I can tell you Horror Stories about that Part of the World. Of course, coming Back From Nam it was a Cake Walk compared to what I had been seeing.

Let's just say I have seen things that Even McCann probably has seen in that part of the world.
If someone wants to know about it I have no qualms sharing what I know.
Just like Cigs your not going to quit and Unless you want too. Quit that 44 years ago.

Next time you pass that Homeless Man, don't just walk by taking the time to ask Him how he ended up that way. By the Way, give him a New Pair of Socks and watch the Joy in his eyes.
