I don't put a ton of stock in intangibles, but I'd be very curious to see what would happen if Gurriel was brought back and replaced Abreu. Obviously I don't expect Gurriel to be a good hitter anymore, but he had gotten real good defensively and he could be a huge boost to morale. And hell, even what he did the last couple seasons would be a drastic improvement offensively over Abreu.
Sign Gurriel, drop Singleton. It wouldn't cost hardly anything to just try.

Well it's Singleton instead of Abreu... Unfortunately that's probably the best option right now. He might at least walk or a hit deep flyball...

This offense is just lifeless. It’s almost a guaranteed loss when they go to a pitcher-friendly park because they just don’t hit line drives.

It’s like he forgot how to dominate outside pitches. |
