"Finally performing" his a bit of a stretch. His defense was mediocre at best so far, and he has a .300 OBP. He's a plus defender in CF, the best on the team in fact, and has a 118 wRC+. Dubon is at 104. I mean come on. Why are you defending them on this? He's not performing at an All-Star level so let's bench him for people performing WORSE? Make this make sense to me. That 118 is bloated because of a couple HRs in limited ABs this year. He's got 240 games under his belt now with a .296 OBP. He's a solid bench player/defensive replacement but he's not a full-time player. They may have hoped he would be but he isn't. They said he was because they tried to give him some confidence. None of these others may end up better, but I don't mind them exploring other options. |

A lot of those games were during a rushed return from injury. And he's hit 3 HR despite limited playing time and you're using that as an argument AGAINST him? I mean I get you don't like him, but he's actually performing. He's doing the job they asked him to and promised to let him do, and then they bench him anyway. What options? Dubon? Cabbage? He's performing better than them. Chas is on the IL... and he's even performed better than Chas. 118 vs. 82! Are you going to want them to explore options when Chas gets back healthy, too? It would be one thing if he had stunk, but he hasn't. It does not make sense. It never will. |

Don't give up hope. We're still looking better overall. This was a game that could have gone either way. That, and the bad luck loss to Cleveland, and we've only really looked bad in one game since before Mexico, and that was yesterday.
Yordan will wake up from this slump and Bregman will improve. The starting pitching is finally stabilizing overall and the bullpen will follow.

We seem behind schedule on that |
