The Stros gave up quick on Santana, I liked him when I first saw him in Williamsport in his rookie season when it was a Phillies affiliate. At that time, he was like high school age playing against first year college draftees.

Grossman has gone on to have a pretty successful career for a guy that the Astros didn't want and isn't super good at anything. 12 seasons, 100 OPS+ primarily as a 4th OFer, won a championship. Always a respectable OBP guy who hits lefties decently. I picture Will Wagner as a potential infield version of Grossman.

I can still see him and Castro of the duo looking back at the umpire of getting called out on strike three. Remember that roster, even with good talent were loaded with K's. Carter, Valbuena also the addition of Gomez that season.
