Two Ks in the first inning. Better JV.

Get JV a couple damn runs. Geez He gets the same run support that Roger Clemens and Nolan Ryan got, basically nothing.

Things are looking good for The A’s Series. As I’ve called it all season. This is the make or break series for The Astros. I’m all checked in for the next five nights and watching today’s game from The Westin across from MMP. Anything less than winning this next four game set is a failure imo. Very nice game today to finish Detroit off . I will be at the next four games at MMP!

The Rangers were swept this weekend by the Rockies. Love that.

We're really good when we're not getting blown out in the first inning....

If they can go 10-3 over the next 13, they'll have a real pulse again.

JV with Astros catchers:
Diaz: 1.05 ERA Caratini: 6.75 ERA Maldonado: 2.71 ERA Castro: 0.96 ERA McCann: 1.56 ERA Chirinos: 2.58 ERA
Obviously it's smaller sample sizes with Diaz, Castro, and Caratini. But I think there is enough consistency amongst the group without Maldonado to say that he wasn't any better with Maldonado than anybody else (outside of Caratini so far).
And he certainly seems successful with Diaz so far.

It would be interesting to see everyone, as you would imagine the more veteran guys like JV would not need an excellent catcher as much as someone like Brown or France.

Blanco -Diaz: 2.51 ERA Maldonado: 6.07 ERA Brown -Caratini: 12.46 ERA Diaz: 4.99 ERA Maldonado: 4.67 ERA Valdez -Caratini: 3.24 ERA Maldonado: 3.20 ERA Castro: 3.82 ERA Diaz: 5.79 ERA (only 4.2 IP) Javier -Caratini: 2.57 ERA (1 Game) Diaz: 4.61 ERA Castro: 2.63 ERA Maldonado: 3.98 ERA Lee: 3.60 ERA Garneau: 4.22 ERA Salazar, Stubbs, Vazquez: All 2.53 ERA or below Arrighetti -Diaz: 8.15 Caratini: 9.82 (only 3.2 IP) Kind of a mixed bag really. We'd need more of a sample size to really compare, but I think we can reasonably say as a whole, that the catcher doesn't really matter that much to their final results. Framber probably benefits from the veteran catchers the most since he can be a headcase. The team this year has a better winning percentage when Diaz catches, but not dramatically so. France was the one guy that had far superior numbers with Maldonado over Diaz.
