Angels are 6 1/2 out and 6 behind Houston. Hope @ace-of-Diamonds is ok. That’s right, he’s an Angels fan I think.

Nice to see the team ERA go down for a change.
Astros are doing exactly what they need to be doing against this string of weaker teams.

Who would of thought just 4 weeks ago that Gattis would have his average up to 240, his ops up to mid 7s, and would be the hero in several games. Last night specifically. In most scenarios without him in the game we lose last night and the sea hags put a little bit of daylight between us. Good game Gattis. I guess you can hit without being in the game in a defensive position.

I've been amazed by Gattis' turn-around. I never would have thunk it. Maybe he will tell Julia some day what made it all click for him.

That is the DH we need!

That is the DH we need! That is one thing you can say about AJ, he will keep faith in his players and not throw them under the bus. I think that is why you see great harmony with this group of players. As an off note just look how he worked on Sipp, gradually getting him going from games out of reach and working him into critical part of the game. Let's face it he knows how to work confidence back and give a player his mojo back.

But even with a little lift they're still terrible

I am pretty sure your seat was just across the aisle from mine. I like you think the Astros need another big bat for the playoff run. Houston's offense is down considerably this year and a big bat would fill some of the void left by some of the big drop offs this year

My beef is with Hinch being stubborn more than Jake not being better than he is. Sometimes when you win a title you think you're the smartest guy in the room and your decisions are infallible. Even though they need to be re-examined

Even though they need to be re-examinedI wish we had the inside scoop on Jake, but we don't, it gives us something to craw about. Go back to Wally, remember the talk how many chances and why is he in the line up. I wish they were more patient like that with JD.

I still remember when the Padres traded Ozzie straight-up to the Cards for Garry Templeton. Back then both were considered weak sticks, and no one thought one of them would end up in the HOF

I have always wondered about Jake's vision and if has had a thorough examination recently. There has to be an explanation other than he is actually this bad.

The Mariners are 21-7 since Canó got suspended for 80 games Almost all of that was against the Rangers and Tampa Bay. They feasted on weak teams. Now they have Boston and the Yanks a few times. That ship will sink fast.

That ship will sink fast. I'm hoping they split with the Red Sox and Yankees while we annihilate our weaker schedule. I want to gain ground on all of them, not just Seattle.
