The hitters gotta hit and the pitchers gotta pitch. D is looking for you I'm choosing to try and be positive about this cold streak. This just means they're going to heat up at the right time for the end of the season and the postseason. JV and Tucker will get back, and we'll go into the postseason pretty healthy.

JV and Tucker will get back, and we'll go into the postseason pretty healthy. I’m picturing you in a straitjacket in the corner repeating that to yourself while rocking back and forth.

The good thing is that the starting pitching is looking good. If that holds up, the rest will fall back into place.

But they have 50 games to figure it out.

Dezenzo is in the lineup. Spark, maybe?

Ashitaka Is there reason to hope that Dezenzo is a legitimate potential big leaguer?

Ashitaka Is there reason to hope that Dezenzo is a legitimate potential big leaguer? Yes. Not a star probably but could be solid. Power is very legit and he's improved his strikeout rate even while climbing the ranks. That will be key; most people who are lower on him are worried he will have contact issues. On defense he's not going to be as good as Bregman at third, but he's better than you'd think given his size (6'5", 220 lbs.) He played a reasonable shortstop in college and he works hard so I think he can stick as an average MLB 3B. His arm is above average and that will help cover for him (and Pena is a great shortstop so that helps, too). If he can make enough contact he could be an average defender and a 30 HR guy with a decent walk rate. Fangraphs is one outlet that thinks he won't make as much contact as people hope, so they put an Eugenio Suarez comparison on him, which would honestly be a great outcome; even with his strikeouts he has posted five seasons of 3.0+ WAR.

Typical AB for Altuve lately. Riding a 2-21.

Swinging at 3-0 when we potentially have a pitcher on the ropes early with RISP (again). Do we have coaches?
It's one thing to lose, but we're losing without seemingly doing anything to improve on what we're failing at.

I don't want to jinx him, but Framber is looking pretty well locked in already.

One pitch, one out. Good job, Chas. Let's end this game ASAP so we can all get on with doing actual enjoyable things in life again.

I don't want to jinx him, but Framber is looking pretty well locked in already. Pitching is pretty much always consistent to great at times. I get why they keep Smith around. Hitting is not very consistent. Which makes me wonder why we keep the hitting coaches around?

4 runs in 31 innings.
Altuve and Yainer get an out and Bregman/Yordan get hits. Altuve gets a hit and Bregman/Yordan get outs...
Three fly balls hit at 95mph or better and no runs.

Okay step one is complete. You can't blow a lead until you get a lead, after all.
