Turn it around today while you still have a 3.5 game lead. Need to string together a bunch of wins starting today.

It would be really great to see us apply some early pressure and give Arrighetti some support from the beginning.

Diaz with the day off. Dezenzo back at 1B. We should have traded for the other Y Diaz . Our Team OPS+ is 108. Yandy really wouldn't have been a big upgrade. We have better hitting 1B options that we don't use... Yandy: 109 OPS+ Caratini: 115 OPS+ Yainer: 115 OPS+ Whitcomb: 122 OPS+ (if they used him at 1B) We have options for 1B. The real upgrade we need(ed) from an offensive standpoint is in the OF, and an improvement in our hitting with RISP as a team.

Sure, it all would have depended on what we would have had to give up. We don't use platoons/matchups to our advantage when it comes to offense. We haven't for a while really. I had hoped Espada would be better at it than Baker, but he hasn't really. (He's been better at giving young guys a chance though.) Singleton is an effective hitter against righties. He's a cheap solid 1B option when the opponent is righthanded. They should just pencil him in there for those situations without thinking, but they don't. I might be wrong, but it just feels like they just throw out whatever random DH/1B/OF combination occurs to them on a game by game basis. We also don't maximize our DH spot efficiently to give people "days off" without taking their bats out of the lineup.

That was heads up by Jose. No guarantee we score so I’m all for it.

Altuve has 20 stolen bases now, btw. His most since 2017.

is Spaghetti the real deal?
Is this more beginners luck (like JP France and Hunter Brown the first time) had? or does he really have ace potential

More squandered opportunities to score. That’s all we see lately.

Pena has been brutal at cleanup. No idea why they keep forcing him there.

I need to see more of those opposite field homers from Yordan. If he did that at MMP, he’d have so many more HRs and RBIs.

This team has got to handle it's business more consistently. Should have been 6-1 against the Orioles and Phillies. Instead, 3-4. Yordan had more homers in one game than he has at home in almost the last three months.
