6.5 game lead in the division now. The 2nd seed is within reach if we finish strong....
Tucker should be due back any day now, and Bregman is supposedly feeling better again. If Altuve could get going we could have our lineup at virtual full strength for the first time in a long time.

In a separate scary question does Montero comeback to the team? What is the playoff bullpen?

If we carry 13 pitchers, I would expect this: Framber Brown Kikuchi Verlander Arrighetti Blanco Hader Pressly Abreu Scott Neris (not my choice) Ferguson Ort/Whitley (whomever impresses the most down the stretch)

Their mediocre stuff has been thrown a long time in the majors, so opposing teams/hitters know how to hit them. In their cases, experience is a bad thing.

Ort has been good for us, but if Whitley keeps striking guys out at the rate he has been, it may not be a clear cut decision. Between the minors and his couple appearances with us this year, he's at almost 13 K/9 which is incredible. He might be that guy with electric stuff out of nowhere this year that has an impact in the postseason since teams haven't seen him much. I'd take him and Ort over Neris, personally. I also liked King.

If the season finished now, they'd have to play an extra series before they got to the divisional series round. I don't think that would be easier. If they can get to the 2nd seed, which they are 4.5 games from, they would get that round off and get a chance for guys to rest a few days. I know some people don't like the idea of "cooling off", but I think we have enough guys ailing and/or throwing more innings than they ever have before, that a few extra days off is more beneficial. That being said, I don't think they can make up the ground they would need to get to that 2nd spot with the amount of time remaining.

Martinez has been terrible as a starter, so of course he's going to shut us down. Meanwhile, Arrighetti will no-hit the Phillies and he'll get pounded by the Reds.

Complete disaster. Might as well pull the starters and make this another rest day.

When is the last time Altuve led the game off getting on base... He was never a real leadoff hitter. He’s just a guy they’ve used there since Springer left.

He will get past this but it’s kind of what to expect with Spencer this season. 3-5 solid starts in a row, followed by a clunker.

If you take out the defensive miscues, the score would be 4-4.

And to think I was initially upset that I'm blacked out of the Reds games LOL.
