Just saw that Miguel Sano was designated for assignment. He has 66 Ks in only 37 games (148 ABs) for 45% K rate. That is Marisnickkkk territory

Maybe the replacement for bad Marisnick is good Marisnick like BAD Gattis was replaced by GREAT Gattis.

I think the big difference here is that Gattis is as consistent as they come every year he hits about the same. Last year was a down year as far as power goes for him and even with that his performance was passable. Marisnick is only consistent in his inconsistency. Last year was a fluke year power wise for him like Marwin. As a fifth outfielder he would do just fine but nothing more. We need another power bat to make it to the finish line. The Yankees and the Red Sox are on pace for 110 wins, Seattle is on the same pace as we are, we are playing great and are one of 4 very good teams in the AL. The Yankees have the farm to get better, the Red Sox always seem to find a way to add pieces, and the Mariners would rather trade than sit still any day.
We are playing great ball right now, we have a weak part of the schedule ahead of us, but we are still looking up at teams that are driving each other to great seasons. We have to get better or we will go home early. That means we will be hard pressed to even take along an improved Marisnick. That might work for another month or so but then unless he is proven to be back to where he was last year. No way bad move.

Looks like Mitch Haniger is Arizona’s J.D. Martinez well I screwed up my edit then it would not let me edit my edit. What I said was that Haniger always seems to give us trouble. It seems every year some gm has his head up his back side. |

Gattis is pretty consistent on the year-end totals, but he is prone to streakiness. I do expect him to slump again at some point
