This looks like a first round exit team...assuming they don't just get swept these last two series and make it at all. Offense is horribly unclutch. Any given day they may just not even show up. This team is still below .500 against winning clubs.

This team is still below .500 against winning clubs. It’s not just that. They’re unable to shift on the fly. They had the bases loaded and JRod was embarrassed on the first two pitches. He got a base hit with the next pitch. The next moment, we had the tying run at second base with one out and struck out the next two AB’s. This is just an ongoing problem this season and won’t likely get better. They simply cannot hit when it matters. They can set up the pins but can’t get the strike. This aggressive mindset that the team has adopted under Espada is killing them. They’re simply not a good enough offense to be in Attack Mode so often. Their reason for success was patience and getting the right pitch to hit. I don’t know what this offense tries to accomplish besides “chicks dig the long ball”. There’s simply no play besides “swing away”. |
