I'm a big believer in Dubin's stuff. If he can finally command it better, he can be a really good late inning weapon. A poor man's Abreu with the good heater/slider combo. He's still out there with a five pitch mix like he wants to start, they might need to convince him to drop either the cutter or the change, and possibly the curve as well. Maybe just FB, SLD, CHG and try to focus on commanding them.

38 more wins for JV. I would say he goes another two years minimum. I hope he does. I will just be very surprised if it’s in an Astros uniform. I would think back to Detroit will be most likely. After that I would think the Dodgers. Houston may be 3rd choice. Or the Orioles, D-Backs or Royals… Actually put Arizona as my 3rd most likely 2025 team. 1. Tigers 2. Dodgers 3. Dbacks 4. Astros 5. Padres (just snuck them in) 6. Orioles 7. Royals I'd bring him back on a reasonable deal

I'd bring him back on a reasonable deal $12M base (max $15M) + performance incentives It will take more than that I'm sure. You might get him for $20 million + $10 million in incentives though.

We already have Framber, HB, Blanco, and Arreghetti locks for 4 spots. Then for the final spot, I think we will bring Kikuchi back. Then we have some depth with France, Luis Garcia, and Urquidy.

It is a tough call with JV. If you go back to Morton's last season in Houston, he had a similar pattern of injures throughout, going on and off the IL. It looked like he was at the end of his career and even with the hint of retirement. Charlie is still kicking, but again is he going to retire.

What happens when Framber's elbow blows up or who knows what?

If you're paying him no more than McCullers is essentially, it's hard to argue against, unless doing so will damage the chances of a Tucker extension or something. Or even a Kikuchi extension. But the potential reward is high. He was coming back too fast from an injury that had nothing to do with his arm or shoulder. But he's old, so who can say some other injury won't happen again? I dunno. I wonder if Crane's love for him will win out in the end. If he gets to 300 wins with another 2-3 seasons in Houston, there's no doubt he goes into the Hall with an H-Star on the cap, after the sham of Nolan going in with a Rangers cap on. That might mean more to Crane than we know.

I know how much Altuve does, but V is the real deal. If I was a betting man I would say he goes into the hall with a Tigers cap on regardless of how his career finishes. I would also point out that I love Mrs. Verlander almost as much as I do Justin!
