I know many people are surprised by his production this year, but I for one am glad that no other team seemed to have showed a ton of interest in him to pry him away in a trade. Either that or our management felt he would turn into this type of player. The dude his racking in Altuve like category right now.
He only has 8 strikeouts in 76 ABs (26 games) and he's our #9 hitter. I for one would like to see him stay an Astro for some time as he is just the spark we need at the bottom of the order. If Marwin leaves for a bigger pay day somewhere else we have Kemp who can play many different positions. (be it at lesser power but more speed)
And don't get me started on Gattis. The dude is leading the team in RBIs now with 46 and HRs with 14. We have 3 guys on pace for over 100 RBIs in Gattis, Correa and Springer and 30 HRs. Yet NONE are talked about in MVP talk.

I calculated that mid-game last night, because I was curious. Wow .391.
I fuctup my adding at first, but then I got it right. Kemp's been a great 9-hole hitter. Fisher's too nervous when he plays in the majors. I don't think he's gonna make it as a ballplayer

Kemp could easily make a nice addition to the postseason rosters. A lot of people expected him to be a marginal player who would hit below the league average but well enough to stick at a weak team... to be honest, I can't recall a #9 hitter for the Astros who did such a good job of turning things over for the leadoff hitter.

He is exceeding expectations at this point, and , is one of the reasons for the improved offense. I doubt if he goes back to Fresno.

He isn’t going to Fresno hitting the way he is. He’s a 2b playing the outfield though. He’s a good hitter with speed. Nice addition.

100 RBI is great but a very small part of being an MVP. That's why Altuve won with just 81 last year.
