Hopefully I get to see Ted Tucker play tonight. Might be my last game I get to go to this season.

Now an interesting outfield, though not likely, would be Tucker, Reddick and Kemp while Springer gets another breather. But I don't know who they trust defensively in CF enough to bench even a struggling Springer.
I also hope that this is an indication that Correa is progressing so Marwin can go back to the Super Sub role.

Interesting that 3 of those 4 outfielders bat left-handed.

Glad Tucker is here and in the lineup. However, the useless Tyler White should be the one going to Fresno....White is a mediocre defensive player at any position and has not proven he can hit consistently. Jake Marisnick has proven to be an outstanding center fielder who has saved us countless runs and is a valuable base runner to use in late innings when a run is needed. Proud they called up Tucker, but, they made a bad move and sent down the wrong guy. I guess they are waiting until Correa comes off the stiff list to send White back to Fresno.

So does Kemp. With our pitching they're obviously less concerned with our OF defense and more concerned with keeping the offense steady. Which isn't a bad idea.

White has gotten on base something like 40% of the time since called up, hasn’t he?

I'll take Jake's late-inning defense over White getting on base......If we have to depend on White to get on base, we are probably in trouble. Jake is weaker offensively, but, vastly superior defensively and as a base runner.

Jake is weaker offensively, but, vastly superior defensively and as a base runner. I agree. Except this is not the playoff roster we're talking about. He needs regular work on his ABs that he won't get except at AAA. I think this is the month they look at the possibilities for the 2019 and 2020 lineups while staying competitive in the Home Field race. I think we'll see a lot of Tucker, Kemp and White this month as the non-waiver deadline approaches. We need to know which guys are worth protecting and which are trade bait.
Of course, this might be the team that needs Home Field the least.

Interesting that 3 of those 4 outfielders bat left-handed. If Tucker continues to hit left handers in the ML like he has the last couple years in the minors, there should be no reason for AJ to sit him against lefties. Interestingly, at Fresno Tucker is batting .306 against lefties with a .964 OPS and 5 HRs in 62 ABs... a HR every 12 ABs +/-. He is batting .306 against righties with a .874 OPS and 9 HRs in 265 ABs....a HR every 30 ABs +/-.

I agree that Jake needs at bats to work out his problems and AAA is best for that..........just hope we don't miss his defense too much while he gets them. He will probably be on the playoff roster. I don't think we see Tucker traded, but, I won't be surprised if White and Reed are dealt and that is a possibility for Kemp in the right trade.

Things are going to be a bit crowded in the outfield at Fresno. They’ve now got Marisnick, Myles Straw, Derek Fisher and Yordan Alvarez on the active roster and Drew Ferguson on the DL. Marisnick and Fisher are both on the Astros 40-man roster and Alvarez, Straw and Ferguson are all in the Astros’ Too 30 prospects per mlb.com. I hope they don’t take ABs away from Alvarez or Straw to give Jake his ABs.

He plays both infield and outfield on defense and can get on base, has some power, and speed on the bases. He's also the player I'd trust most to get a bunt down and maybe beat it out for a single.

I think Kemp is still on the team to promote him for a trade.

That applies to about 5 guys that will have to be moved or be lost in Rule 5. We can't protect everyone we think will be good eventually.

Now if Kemp can just learn to be alert and make smart decisions on the base paths. I think he'll be okay. The other reason for this may be too continue showcasing him as a potential trade piece. Then bring Jake back up.

With the way the offense is Cold then Hot it is a hard one to call. But if they are keeping both White and Kemp up to showcase them. Then they need to play almost every day and produce and if that happens do you really want to Trade them.
