Since I have seen today where some teams are putting players, especially pitchers, on the 10 day DL today, I assume this means they can come off at the end of the All-Star break. If that is the case, seems like a good idea to put McCullers on the 10-day DL after tonight's start to give us a fresh arm for the pen for the rest of the week. Then, activate McCullers before his scheduled start after the break. Thoughts??

No reason not to do it so we can either bring up another pitcher or infielder.

good idea.....put both of them on it.
Verlander could start Sunday and next Friday, but, AJ could also mix it up. Seems like separating Verlander and Cole in the rotation would be a good idea.

Fast Forward to which team do you think Keuchel will be playing next year 1. Astros 2. Yankees 3. Braves 4. Phillies 5. Dodgers 6. Brewers 7. Some other team.

His 2018 is just as bad and he doesn't appear injured. Yankees won't touch him. Brewers and Phillies like picking up Astros players so I'd go with that.
I could see Philly pairing Keuchel up with Arrieta (two bearded past Cy-Young award winners)

So, you think pitching over 140 innings makes him durable? Most of today's pitchers are babied to the point they think they are working hard when they would be laughed at by pitchers from the era of Nolan Ryan and those guys who regularly pitched around 300 innings and worked in a 4- man rotation. Guys like Verlander don't grow on trees in today's market. Most of today's pitchers would be called sissies back in Ryan's day.

I don't care when Keuchel is next year as long as we don't overpay him and sign him to a long term deal. If he will stay here at a reasonable amount, OK. If not, see ya!!
