At first, I thought people were joking about Correa’s girl causing his injury. I’m starting to think they’re serious. If anyone should have back problems it should be JV, now their would be a scoop. Don’t you mean Kate Upton? Those things are huge.

Time to trade Bregman. He has reached his ceiling Luhnow was smart to walk away from the José Quintana talks. And the Gerrit Cole talks in 2017 for that matter. He may have failed to pick up more offense over the winter, but the three Astro All-Star pitchers last night weren't even on the roster 19 months ago. That's pretty amazing

That's pretty amazingI was very happy not to get Quintana. I figured his ERA would hit above 4 in the coming years and not be as effective of a pitcher. Didn't like the way he was trending beforehand.

It is not like Quintana is pitching horrible, but it definitely worked out better the Astros did not trade for him..who would have known 2 years ago Keuchel would be the 4th or 5th best pitcher in the rotation.

Freakin Keuchel. I get tired of seeing him throwing balls out of the zone and hoping batters swing at them. Then, when people hit his slow pitches through a hole in the shift, it’s because of “bad luck”.

We suggested waiting til the deadline to check on Verlander when y'all were skeeting to Quintana

If Travis ever gets released from the Nork Gulag, I hope he starts posting again.

Who said none of the others have? Hasn’t been discussed with others as much. They haven't had as much, but they've had some as well. I remember in the last Texas series we had a lot of dinky hits against the shift for a number of pitchers.

I don’t believe Altuve has the range to get to quite a few grounders headed his way. If not for his mediocre arm, I’d switch him and Correa on the extreme lefthanded pull shifts.

I think sometimes he gets a little lazy with his throws (maybe fear of overthrowing, I don't know). I agree on the shifts though. I understand the science behind it, but I feel like we do it too often and too much.

I understand the science behind it, but I feel like we do it too often and too much. I don’t believe in offering a wide runway on the push side just because a batter has a tendency to like pulling the ball. I’ve seen Gallo and Canó bunt for hits the other way, the latter bunting a double due to a silly shift. Even Gary Sánchez knows how to float a single to right field on occasion. As far as Altuve, I just go by what I see. He makes some good plays but often is just out of range for moderate grounders. Those are either on him or the overshifting.

Not only do his 47 doubles lead the league but so do his 77 XBH. Remarkable season thus far.

Bregman's 3rd season (2nd full). On pace for:
34 HR 111 RBI 110 Runs 181 Hits 54 Doubles 94 BB 12 SB .298 AVG 164 OPS+ 7+ WAR
Berkman's 3rd season (2nd full):
34 HR 126 RBI 110 Runs 191 Hits 55 Doubles 92 BB 7 SB .331 AVG 161 OPS+ 6.5 WAR
Berkman beats him a little in a few offensive categories, but Bregman beats him in baserunning and defense. (For the record, it was also Berkman's 1st all-star season and he finished 5th in MVP voting.)
