I think Schwarber takes this one. I also think Bregman won't get the fewest HRs. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

If Bregman doesn't win, it won't be for lack of confidence.

Astros have good, warning-track power in the HR derby

AJ is probably glad that Bregman won't have a chance to throw his oblique out of whack by progressing to the later rounds of the derby.
He put up a good fight, that's for sure.

Bregman is going to get killed. Nope. He did quite well. He definitely held his own. I really hope the Astros keep him for the long term. I see him being a Biggio lifer. He has that confident edge to him that makes him want to keep getting better. I wish Correa had his mindset, he'd be a beast

Bregman is going to get killed. Nope. He did quite well. Yeah I'm surprised. Very strong finish. And he did it in less time.

If Bregman doesn't win, it won't be for lack of confidence. The guy wakes up in the morning and pisses excellence.

I predict Bregman will have 15 HR and just miss a tying 16th. Then the Schwarber, after being extended by Bregman and Hoskins, will be tired and unable to win in the finals against the little princess of Washington. You heard it here first. It was Russian Collusion!
We need a special prosecutor from the Cubs to run an impartial investigation.

One of the AL pitchers is probably a replacement, but I don't know which one. This would account for the imbalance.

Apparently, Verlander has not been replaced on the roster, even though he pitched Sunday and is scheduled to pitch Saturday.

OK. Fantasy time. We've been focused on why White was sent down, but not replaced on the roster. Many think it could be because of a trade of an all star is in the works. Suspected candidates are Ramos and Realmuto at C, Hand or Vasquez Bull Pen or even Abreu.
But what if behind the scenes, Mr. and Mrs. Verlander have made it known that they want to raise their family in LA. Could he and several prospects be part of a package for TROUT involving a couple of the Angels starters? Paticularly since Verlander has suggested he wants to pitch till he's at least 40.
Is a Blockbuster Trade in the works?

Why would the Astros give up their best pitcher before the postseason (who we have for another year) not to mention several additional prospects?

On a tangent, I’m so glad the “we don’t need Verlander” people crawled into their holes and died after the World Series.

Only thing he’s done well all season. I think he's dissatisfied with the Nationals and it's affecting his play. He's still going to end up with a productive season with 30+ HR and probably 100 RBI with a good OBP, but he seems to have lost his spark. He needs to get it back quick if he wants the mega contract.

Bregman compared to Harper over the last three seasons (and Trout for fun):
Harper: 25 years old - 130 OPS+ - 7.2 total WAR Bregman: 24 years old - 135 OPS+ - 10.7 total WAR Trout: 26 years old - 182 OPS+ - 24.0 total WAR
