Unless you’re talking about starting Marwin González nearly every game.

Unless you’re talking about starting Marwin González nearly every game. It would help the club if this lazy bum was on the DL.

It's almost like he can feel his free agent value dropping and it's affecting his play.

He's certainly bringing his free agent value back up.

The reason I think a QO for Marwin is a good idea is I think he'll reject it. I admit it's a risk though

It's the same as with Keuchel to me. I think he'll go for a multi-year deal with Boras. But if he doesn't, there are worse things than having a utility player of his caliber for one more year. A one-year deal won't keep us from getting the core-4 signed to extensions.
Last year was a fluke, but he's still had four above-average offensive years out of the last five while playing all over the field.

Especially since JDD hasn't proven he can hit ML pitching yet

He was needed as a stopgap nonetheless while in-house candidates were developing in the minors Like someone said earlier, if it's one year at that rate it doesn't bother me much. That's the appeal of the QO

That's the appeal of the QO Like the Spanish Inquisition, no one expected Rasmus to accept his QO.

He's worth the possibility of paying $17 million. What does that mean? It's only a 50/50 possibility (at best) that he accepts it. He's worth that risk/possibility for one year.

The reason I think a QO for Marwin is a good idea is I think he'll reject it. I admit it's a risk though I think if Marwin continues his post season play, it will be good to offer him a QO....As well as Keuchel...I don't think either player you want to commit to a multi-year expensive contract...but a 1 year deal of $18M make sense...and if they reject it, then if the sign elsewhere, the Astros receive compensation...

Certainly neither is worth a multi year deal for us unless they were willing to give a good discount.

We need Marwin more than we need Keuchel You know as well as everyone else here you would be screaming for Marwin's head/trade/release by May 15th, 2019....you are just pro-Marwin for the moment.

It may not be appreciated but it makes a difference So it's kind of win-win either way

Many times during the season he looked like he needed bench. He picked things up in the second half and is now looking like the guy who was clutch in the post-season last year....Hell yes........Re-sign him for at least two years.

In no way am I belittling his accomplishments and I am as much of a fan of Altuve's as anyone, but, he does seem to do more than his share of dumb things whether it is running the bases or chasing pitches out of the zone, especially on the first pitch of an at bat.
