I went with Verlander just because he was what put the Astros over the top for the WS title. I would vote Bagwell second

Two of the choices aren't even serious. I'll vote if
1. Glenn Davis for Pete Harnisch, Steve Finley and Curt Schilling replaces the Marisnick one 2. Robert Horry, Sam Cassell, Mark Bryant and Chucky Brown for Charles Barkley replaces the NFL draft-pick one

Most memorable, seismic, and impactful one took place November 29, 1971
We traded Joe Morgan, Denis Menke, Cesar Geronimo, Jack Billingham, and Ed Armbrister to the Reds for Lee May, Tommy Helms, and Jimmy Stewart

Incredibly stupid on some many levels.

It just seemed like impatience on the Astros’ part. To me it was a salary dump pure and simple. The Astros were concerned with what they were going to have to pay those guys. There was no way to even argue it from a talent perspective.

It’s one of those trades I occasionally look back on and wonder why it happened.

Guys, do you know how to edit a poll to include more choices?

This shouldn't even be a debate. A Hall of Fame player that helped turn the whole franchise around for a relief pitcher is the obvious choice.

Impactful and best mean the same thing? OOOOOOkayyyy........ No, it was the best trade and most impactful and most memorable. Whatever terminology you want to use, it was the most superior trade.

Well I still remember 47 years later of the debacle. Yes the Bagwell trade was superior, and by far the best of the franchise But the '71 trade was more memorable and impactful. What happened in that trade would be similar today to trading Altuve and Correa to LAA for Trout and Ohtani. That is memorable, and much more memorable than the Bagwell acquistion.
