Yeah, I can’t remember you being mean to anyone. It seemed over the line. Me thinks, by his posting, he takes things way too seriously and is extreme on things...I would say on average he makes sensible, good posts, but you can clearly see he is a "Draw a Line in the Sand" type of guy... You shut your damn mouth, you Hillary supporter.

To someone completely bamboozled by Twitter discourse and the mainstream media, I'm sure that truth and reality seem extreme. Ridiculous even.
Put 100 people bamboozled by Twitter and the mainstream in a room together, and truth/reality will seem 100 times more implausible still.
A person like Thomas would label truth/reality as a 'tinfoil hat', 'conspiracy theory' sort of thing because he has lived his life in this sort of echo chamber -- exactly as the Ivy League psychologists who engineered those terms intended, to support the continued oppression of the people by a rather onerous group of ruling elites.
But by refusing to grow up and get educated, Thomas depresses the quality of social discourse around him. It's not entirely his fault, considering what has been arrayed against him. Yet the only person who can help Thomas is... Thomas.

I guess I am your target/vessel/channel for everything that is upsetting you in the big, bad World...Yeah, me!!! BTW - I don't have a facebook account, care about twitter or really watch the news, unless you consider ESPN news...

I didn't come here picking any fights. "You are going off Doug's vote, who just had a mental breakdown on you. He is like 2nd to Eddie on credit unworthiness." -Thomas, earlier todayThe guy in italics came to the board picking a fight. But I'm just being sensitive, making shit up? Right...

I feel like the only ones making this a bigger issue than it needs to be are the ones who are making it a bigger issue. I've almost paid zero attention to the entire thing, and the parts I have heard I just shrug and move on. It perpetuates because new articles keep coming out. Pay close attention to where these new articles originate.......Most of them come from members of the East Coast media who have their noses firmly implanted in the Yankees behind with a few Red Sox lovers included. They are still butt hurt because the Astros took out both teams on the way to winning the WS. Now, they fear that Osuna will help the Astros pen and give them a better shot to repeat. Yankees were just swept by the Red Sox and blew a late inning lead last night. They Yankees have played much worse since the break and now trail by 9.5 games in the division. So, it is time to trash moves by other teams to take attention away from the floundering Yankees. The air will clear in the clubhouse if Osuna conducts himself the right way. I still think Luhnow knew more about the situation than we have been told. I don't believe one word that comes from the :East Coast media unless I see it for myself.

Always follow the money. TV was once mild television shows that didn't rock many boats. News programs broadcast the, um, news, except they tended to shy away from really controversial stuff. For example, several newsmen knew of President Kennedy's extramarital liaisons but didn't report it. Then it was discovered that shock television could increase ratings, so they created shows where people said and did outrageous stuff just so people would tune in. Morton Downey was one of the earliest I remember followed by several others. Newsmen went from being an information source to becoming virtual storm troopers assailing whatever and whoever stood in the way of their agenda. When the internet became a thing anyone with a computer could get almost instant access to all sorts of salacious goodies (a trend that still continues). Now you have this relatively minor uproar about Osuna driven by click-bait "journalists" who are required to fill in a column every day. Instead of saying, "Hey, we really don't know the particulars, but it seems like it could be bad pending the revelation of the facts", Mr. Osuna has been tried and convicted. The truth is too boring. Therefore, we must provide some faux indignant righteousness and assassinate a man's character based on, what is to this point, hearsay. And they've destroyed jobs and lives before.
Anyone remember the McDonnell-Douglas DC-10? It was one of the best airplanes to ever grace the skies but it was killed by the media. McDonnell produces airframes. The buying customer can choose any engine they want for the plane: Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, GE, etc. Once the plane leaves McDonnell, they have no further control over it- or the maintenance of it. It was involved in some highly publicized crashes in the 70's and each one was due to poor maintenance, usually of the engine. The media crucified McDonnell. No one cared what the truth was; the press convinced the public that the DC-10 was a death trap, carriers stopped buying it, McDonnell stopped producing it, millions of dollars and thousands of jobs were lost. All because of a mistaken perception.
I don't give a rat's ass about bad PR for the Astros. Luhnow did what he thought was best for the team independent of what some snarky click-bait internet hatchet man would say. The Osuna situation will resolve itself soon enough and they'll move on to the next target (after all, gotta get those clicks!) When the boss of a business starts making decisions based on what the common (i.e, uninformed) man thinks, he may as well call in the dogs and pee on the fire, because it's over.
