I'm ok with whoever becomes the Moderator. I did feel sometimes you were a little heavy handed. As long as we don't Violate the Forum rules and keep the other stuff in the off topic. There should be no problem. I only got upset with you on the One where Mom said something about White People and I show a link to a Write for Times and that is was when you called the same one Mofo's. Just Saying other than that I find it more offensive to have Members calling each other out on Players on the Astros. Because they have a different opinion on the said player. I DO THINK YOU NEED TO RETAIN OWNERSHIP OF THE FORUM> You should have never been elected to be a Moderator it was obvious from the other Forum that you don't have the Patience and Personality to do it. I hope you don't take that in the wrong way+ That's the whole problem. The posts that I moderated WERE in violation of ProBoards rules. That's why ProBoards sent me a message threatening to delete our forum. And when I asked everyone to refrain, people threw a fit and ran off in a tizzy. As to my fitness to moderate with my lack of patience...I spammed this board when it was built, trying to get someone other than ME to moderate, as I knew I didn't have the personality for it. Not one person stepped up to take the responsibility. Everyone was happy to let me do all the work, and then had the audacity to bitch about the way I did the job. |

You have done us a good service by bringing in everyone and setting up this forum. Now you are kind of like the folks on the board of directors of an hoa. Unless you get off on power the job is just work and it takes time to do it and do it right. And I am sure it sucks when people are critical of the work that you do. I have no idea if this is possible or not but there may be a solution that keeps everything running as it should to maintain a properly functioning board. Perhaps it would be possible to have 3-4 people with moderator authority. That way no one could jump in someone's s**t when they do not like a call as it would be done under the moderator's handle. In my opinion the 3-4 people should send you a message and receive the password. No one signs on as moderator unless some moderating needs to be done. The 3-4 people should be folks that post frequently and so would most likely see a violation and if given the cover of ambiguity would not object to rapping the knuckles of a member who has gone rogue. If the other moderators do not agree with the actions of one of the moderators then they can discuss collectively and come to an agreement on future similar situations. If members do not like the direction of the board they can move on, we are all free to do that whenever the nerve is hit that causes too much pain to stay. This is your site though and you should not give it up. Just find a solution that works for you. |

Just to make things perfectly clear. The vast majority of MY COMPLAINTS had nothing to do with you. They were in order: 1. Congress - for passing an UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAW abridging free speech by merely calling it HATE. 2. Proboards - For using this law as an opportunity to censor politically incorrect speech. It will not be done even handedly because PC speech is not considered HATE by them and TRUTH is considered HATE if they don't like the TRUTH. 3. This is you - Not looking for an alternative host due to the above. I UNDERSTAND why you didn't, but like the robot in LOST IN SPACE, I hear the message,"DANGER..." when confronted by these attempts to sidestep the protections of the CONSTITUTION. 4. I absolutely believe Proboards has the right to go silently into the abyss if it so chooses. It appears they have.
An UNCONSTITUTIONAL LAW can only be litigated when someone violates it and takes it to court. The SCOTUS does not give advisory opinions, ever. The Constitutionality of the law can only be reviewed if Proboards or another host makes a challenge. I don't know what others may have said privately, but that is the full extent of my discontent. I wish you were not put in that position and I really wish you didn't think the griping was primarily aimed at you. |

It doesn't matter. If they close it down, we will go on with our lives. I'll spend the time I previously spent maintaining the forum doing things I enjoy.
