gotta love Kemp and White. two good additions to this team from down on the farm. Kemp is a player, not a right fielder but a good player. Kemp to a degree is the team MVP this year. He stepped up when Fisher wasn't who the front office thought he was gonna beGoing back to the JV trade, wasn't Kemp on the list of players the Tigers could have taken in the trade. I am not sure about it.

I am not sure about it. no I distinctly remember Fisher being the hot trade chip. There was a specific rumor about him for Justin Wilson straight up. Everyone thought Fisher was gonna be a stud last year It's not like he didn't score the winning run in Game 5 of the World Series though

Yuli has been disappointing recently. Yuli has been disappointing most of the year... A sub-.400 SLG for 1B is awful.

White's got his SLG up to .540 now. Might be tops on the team.
I was pretty sure on his previous AB that he actually took ball 5. Kalas said it was a 3-2 count when the scoreboard said it was 2-2. By my count at home, Kalas was right. Subsequent to that, Paxton threw two more balls to White before he finally walked. I'll have to watch a replay to see who had it right.

But over his last ~150 major league ABs (spanning this season and last), his OPS is right around .870. That's already a quarter of the ABs you would expect an everyday starting player to receive in a season.

Kemp and White have earned some extended looks.

As much as you talk up White, there are still memories of his precipitous fall in 2016 before which he looked like a budding star. The precipitous fall you are talking about was really a three-month slump from May to July 2016 in which his stance at the plate and his swing got wonky. By the time White was called back up in August 2016, he was hitting .750 OPS or thereabouts, better than the league average, and hasn't really looked back since. MOre than anything else, White's 2016 story was one of shattering fans' lofty expectations. But he's done a great job of bouncing back, which is something Reed, Fisher, and Davis can't say (yet).
